Early sketches of "Cyborg Samurai Villain" for Tess' world/story
Added 2018-02-22 13:02:45 +0000 UTCI wanted to create a sci-fi augmented cyborg "enforcer-for-crime-boss" kind of villain, so here are some early sketches!
I was inspired by Darth Vader(Who is the only cyborg samurai I know of), and the idea of Gazette from the Kingsman movie, who is essentially an enforcer for her less-combat-capable boss.
I had this idea since cyborg ninjas are way more popular, so I thought of trying to create a cyborg with a Samurai's silhouette.
The top 3 ideas are basically more down-to-earth with a foldable drone attached to her cyborg arm to create the samurai shouderplate look, while the bottom 3 are a bit more over the top which I am considering as well :p
I'm personally inclined to the first design, and the final choice will still be made by me personally, but I'm keen to hear your opinion! Which do you like?

I like the more simple approach. Less is often more. And if it’s a samurai you want the coolest thing to be when he/she has the sword in hand. Not shiny doddads.

2018-02-22 18:45:05 +0000 UTCI understand your consideration but I don't think I am ready to create a nemesis yet. In a way, this character is not going to be recurring/not that important. This design is for an early story - I think I want to embrace stereotypes and homage, build on already established easily understandable character-types rather than create something very unique at this point - there will be more villains after this one, with their own design language. I intend for way more villains - I'm sure I will cross bio-cyberpunk(If we're talking for example. tetsuo from akira) some point in the future ^^ Regarding the corporations part - This villain is just a member of one corporation/group.
2018-02-22 14:03:27 +0000 UTCRaiko, the idea of the main villain is good, but do not you think that this is a too common idea? it may be more interesting to do something from the section - Tess hacker/agent/other on freelance and her opponents are not individual people (creatures / enemies) but whole corporations. By the way about stylistics - what about bio-cyberpunk?) (the bottom 3 options are not very good) (the top 3 options are good, but too conventional)
