Mouldy Oracle Mystery: Fungus Mystery
Added 2024-09-01 01:37:31 +0000 UTCFungus
In your breath, there are spores. In your eyes, there are growths. In the very gaps between the soulstuff that makes your very being, mycelium grows. You might be an agent of rot, of decay, of the death of all things and the new things which rise from them, or you might see yourself as a herald of strange life, neither animal nor plant, alien and yet familiar at the same time. You might draw powers from gods such as Cyth-V'sug, Tamede or even a Green Man, or you might draw your power from the death of a powerful being that was left to fester near you, the spore of something unknowable entering your system, or even from your own body outliving itself and beginning to rot away.

Mystery Skill Nature
Oracle Feat Fungus Prevails
Curse of Cordycepsal Hosting
Curse Divine Oracle Fungus
Mycelium attacks your flesh internally and slowly but surely replaces itself with fungus, changing you into a shambling host for the mushrooms inside you. Even as it eats you alive, you lose the ability to care terribly– the fungus is you, and you are the fungus. Patches of fungus grow from you, and your flesh feels like tightly woven mycelium– you may even have a bad habit of referring to yourself in the plural, or slowly shifting your personality to something new. The fungus is not inherently malicious; it is alive, and as long as it is, so too are you. When you have the cursebound condition, you gain the fungus trait, a weakness to fire and slashing damage equal to your cursebound level times two plus your level, and status penalty to your Intelligence and Wisdom based skill checks equal to your cursebound level.
Endoparasitoid Touch [one-action]
Focus 1
Uncommon Divine Fungus Oracle
Range touch; Targets 1 creature
Defense Fortitude; Duration 1 minute
You lay a fungal hand on the skin of the opponent, and spread a pathogenic fungus into the creature that slowly tries to take over their body.
Critical Success Fungus sprouts through them, making them yours to toy with. The target gains weakness to their level to fire and slashing damage for the duration and is clumsy 2 for one round.
Success As a critical success, but the creature is only clumsy 1.
Failure The target is unaffected.
Critical Failure Your own fungus squirms hungrily. You are clumsy 1 for 1 round.
Cough Spores [two-actions]
Focus 3
Uncommon Divine Fungus Oracle
Area 15 foot cone
Defense Fortitude
You wheeze out a cough of fungus which infects those it touches. All creatures within the area must make a basic Fortitude Save or take 3d8 poison damage; creatures who critically fail their Fortitude Save are also sickened 1.
Life From Rot
Focus 6
Uncommon Divine Fungus Oracle
Area 10 foot emanation; Targets all corpses or corporeal undead within 60 feet of you
Defense Reflex
You swell up the mold already growing in the dead and cause fungus to erupt out in a blast of life. All corpses and undead within 60 feet explode, dealing 3d10 poison damage to all creatures within 10 feet of the corpse or undead. Undead that explode additionally take 3d10 vitality damage as the fungus feeds on them. If a creature is killed by Life From Rot, it immediately explodes too.
Heightened (+1) The poison and vitality damage increases by 2d10.
Fungus Prevails
Feat 1
Divine Fungus Oracle
Prerequisites fungus mystery
Fungus was here far before mortal life, and it shall be here after; it infiltrates all aspects of life, from the bacteria in food to the towering mu spores which crush whole cities. When you cast a spell from the granted spells of the fungus mystery or a spell with the plant or wood trait, you can give them the fungus trait, changing their appearance and removing the original trait.
When you deal damage to a creature with a spell with the fungus trait, you can use a free action with the cursebound trait to deal 1d8 persistent piercing or poison damage to the creature as fungus buries into them. If you are cursebound 2 when you inflict this persistent damage, it becomes 2d8 persistent damage. If you are cursebound 3, it becomes 3d8 persistent damage. If you are cursebound 4, it becomes 4d8 persistent damage. If the target is undead and corporeal, this damage is instead vitality damage.
Everything Rots [three-actions]
Feat 10
Divine Fungus Oracle
Prerequisites fungus mystery
Frequency once per day
Everything rots eventually. You create a 60 foot emanation of fungus, rot and mould around yourself. All creatures within this area increase any persistent damage they are taking from Fungus Prevails to d12s rather than d8s; the DC to recover from this persistent damage is increased to a DC 17, and when a creature critically fails at their recovery check, they are sickened 1.
