dropping a little bonus show on the French Election and a bit of French history. With the far-right Marine Le Pen getting another shot at the presidency of Europe's second biggest economy, I take a look at how we got here and what he might expect to happen the coming sunday. Also talking a bit about how Macron ran as a (somewhat) progressive reformer but ended up governing to the right of center. I'd love to hear some of your feedback on what exactly you would like these bonus shows to be about the most. History, Politics or a mix of the two like this one? I like the bonus episodes that tie the current events (in this case the french election) to the historical events. I have never heard of how de Gaul came to power and how that formed the 5th french republic. Some very interesting context added I think ( at least for me). So I think the history politics mix is pretty good in my opinion. Also for this particular episode I think it would be worth bringing up Jean-luc Melenchon's opinions and relationships with Russia and the war I think is important to mention because it wasn't a great response although better than Le Pen's. Great episode otherwise :)
