Yeah I really like this theory about why Melissa killed Van. Bc if you take a step back, it doesn’t really make sense. But if you pay attention to the words, “isn’t this what IT wants?” like you said it’s almost like she is getting revenge for her friends possibly Gen and Mari possibly even Akilah. I think Shauna was mad at first when they were gonna rig the cards bc she thought they were gonna use it to kill her, but now that she’s queen, she’s pretty much omitted from the hunts. but I think in season four there will be an understanding between Shauna and Van to only kill off the ones who don’t matter and that’s why Melissa killed Van

2025-06-22 00:23:50 +0000 UTCI feel this season heavy leans on showing us the girls are just mentally unwell rather than being supernatural, there are a lot of coincidences yes but these coincidences are what feeds their insanity. So far we have found out Shauna is a paranoid mess everything in the adult timeline has stemmed from her. We see van and Thai have a discussion about rigging the cards for when they next do a hunt meaning it’s not anything supernatural that chooses rather themselves There’s a theory that Melissadoesnt believe in the wildernes, but rather killed van because she figured out about the hunts being rigged which ended up with her friends dead, which is why she said “it’s what it wants, doesn’t it?” You saw Lottie just randomly kill a guy and Shauna bathing in that moment. The thrill on her face was insane! Even before that, at the start of the season Shauna was writing in her diary that she doesn’t believe in the wilderness and that she believed they were all just crazy. Yet when coach Ben she suggested the canablism to “honour the wilderness”, I feel she’s going to use the wilderness to her advantage to terrorise the girls because she doesn’t actually like most of them. Next episode gets crazy and feel like you will make up your mind about the supernatural element or not by then lol
