2024-04-06 00:52:50 +0000 UTCI disagree, I think Damien movie fails to follow on from the first. It’s very much a retread of the original with many missed opportunities. Omen 3 for all its faults at least pushes the story further and does some original stuff. It tries to keep the promise of the first two movies. For me the best sequel to “the omen” 1976 is the tv show Damien. It ignores omen 2,3 and 4, following directly from the first one. Damien is a war photographer and on his 30th birthday a strange encounter brings up his memories from his childhood aka The first movie. This sends him on a quest of self discovery. He encounters evidence for and against him being the anti christ, while dealing with satanists looking to manipulate him to fulfill his destiny and Christians looking to kill him to prevent his destiny. I won’t give much away. But it only ran for one season before being cancelled so watch it knowing that it doesn’t have an ending, and the end of season 1 was a hell of a cliffhanger. https://youtu.be/TM4U9MInmhs?si=aWZUEGvFJS3QaFom
