Thermalito 2025!

Hey everyone, the time of the annual Thermalito race approaches once again, and this year DDF Racer and myself have cooked up a new challenge.

The Thermalito Circuit has been modified to have a cut through at T1, meaning the first corner is now a frighteningly fast left hander.

The old layout still remains in this build as well, as does the short layout. The new layout is called T1 cut in the track selection drop down menu.

I’ve also taken the opportunity to fix a few issues here and there, as well as began the prep for transition over to PBR asphalt textures (not yet enabled in this build but hopefully will be shortly!)

There are a few fixes to the pit lane, as people were clipping the edges to gain some time. Track surfaces around joins have been tidied up.

To accommodate the new T1 lots of the trackside infrastructure that was the inside of old T1 has been removed.

One or two material shaders have been adjusted to look better at all times of day, as before we were getting some odd shadows as sunrise and sunset in some areas.

A track cut was caught just before the entrance to the first tunnel, this surface now correctly registers as ‘off track’

Next update should be the ‘event ready’ version of the circuit and will feature new Audio from DDF race himself, as well as a nice display of trophies in the pitlane boxes of previous podium position winners of the race. Also we have some small adjustjments to make to the trackside sponsors.

Up next - Spring Mountain South. Loads of additional layouts have already been added, and lots of changes to the track mesh! should be ready this week!!
