San Diego 2026 NASCAR Preview – Naval Base Coronado
Added 2025-09-04 19:56:33 +0000 UTCToday I am sharing a preview version of the upcoming 2026 San Diego NASCAR track, set on Naval Base Coronado. This is the location for the newly announced Anduril 250, which will headline the NASCAR San Diego Weekend in June 2026. The event is significant as it will be the first NASCAR race to take place on an active military base, celebrating the 250th anniversary of the United States Navy.

This early preview release includes:
Track surface and layout
AI racing lines
Replay cameras
At this stage the trackside buildings are provided by Authentic Simulation, making this a joint release. The focus here is on driving the layout itself and experiencing the unique setting ahead of the official event. There are several missing details that will be added over time, and once more information about the circuit is released.
This version is not final. The goal is to allow early testing of the circuit flow, racing lines, and overall feel. As always, feedback is welcome and will help guide further improvements before the full release. But please remember that for now there is really limited information available about this circuit.

Yes that'd be brilliant! Please provide as much as you can. References are hard to come by as it's a military base.

2025-09-08 18:18:35 +0000 UTCI'm curious about the modeling of the tarmac for this. If it's "just" flat asphalt, totally okay, but if they're running on the runways (like we did for Coronado Speed Festival) it's a mix of asphalt and some really grippy concrete with seams (which is hell on tires). I can dig up some photos if you'd like.
