This is the second release of Alaska. While not looking much on the surface, it’s well… literally the surface of the track which has changed the most, along with some brand-new mountain textures, and compatibility with the latest version of PURE.

Firstly, there’s a large correction. What I thought were random bits of stone on the side of the track, were small yellow structures used as a rumble strip at the apex of either corner. I do admit, missing these was a silly mistake to make. The details got lost when upscaling the images to use as textures. Then as I didn’t know they were there, I never checked reference for them. But all that is solved with the new update. The apex of the track area has been widened, and the yellow kerbing has been added!
The paint line on the inside of the track is also now much thinner and is set to be yellow instead of white. This is much closer to the real track now.
The mountains in the distance have had a lot of texture work, and thanks to Peter Boese now look even better than ever with the new implementation of Mountainous terrain in PURE 2.57
The mountains themselves now have a shader that should make it so the snow on them is much brighter and reflective, whilst making the rest of the model less shiny. There are separate details for each colour as well, with the green areas being given a tree like texture, and the brown areas a rocky detail.

With this update, the oval track surface, and details should now be mostly complete, barring any small changes that might pop up. This means that the next update will be focused on environment objects, such as the grandstand, flags, scoretower, comms box etc.
Thanks again for your continued support 😊 I hope you enjoy Alaska as much as I have enjoyed making it!
