Area 27, 19/07/2024 - Major Graphics update + Bugfixes

Hi everyone,

Today I have a significant update for Area 27 to share. Here are the details of the changes:

Bug Fixes:

- Resolved bumps at the entry and exit of the pit lanes.

- Addressed various terrain issues.

- Corrected the positions of some kerbs.

- Removed tyre marbles that were causing shadows or interfering with asphalt shaders.

Graphical Adjustments:

- Added a separate mesh along the road surface edges with textures for white lines and asphalt edges, improving the transition to the terrain.

- Gravel traps are now distinct, separate meshes.

- 3D tyre marbles have been placed around the track in appropriate areas.

- 3D pebbles and gravel now line the trackside edges in suitable locations.

- replaced the tyre skidmark mesh, to allow for smoother mesh, with better textures.

-Terrain texture replaced with a more recent one. It's slightly yellowy and less green, so I assume it's from Mid Summer 2023.

Enjoy the updated track! I will be cycling back around to Spring Mountain very shortly, but next up, some large fixes to Ozarks!

True enough. I used a different browser. Thanks.

It's a false positive, as Andre has explained below. Please can you try a different browser?

As part of Microsoft's "we have to get this under control" security push (last ~2 years) which has led to a significant uptick in Defender false positives (better to plague a user with 100 false positives, than deal with one "DEFENDER LET THIS THROUGH!", right?), there has been a change in the Developer Certificate signing process. Devs now require a ($$$) Extended Validation cert to expidite/accelerate the reputation building process with SmartScreen. 7Zip has explicitly decided not go get signed, responding with "Up yer bum", and so now we have widespread SmartScreen and Defender false positive flagging.

For whatever reason, when I attempt to download this file... it gets flagged by Edge as containing a virus.
