Just some testing with some neat software! I'm trying out EBSynth; a neural network that tries to apply a style frame to a whole animation; in this case I colored the first and last frame of the animation, and let the software do the rest- clearly it needs some work, as it has some trouble with the larger movements; but places like the back hoof, rump, and chest seem to be colored correctly.
Definitely a neat experiment, and something I'll be using in the future to speed up my animation workflow!
I've also included a gif version of the original test animation, and one of the many wonky frames that I got as a result of tweaking the property values.
