Inuyasha caught up to Koga at last. It had taken days of tracking and chasing to reach the wolf demon, but now he had him cornered.
In a dead-end canyon, a naked Koga stood up from the waterfall-fed pool he had been bathing in and turned to face the dog demon.
“You stinking beast!” Inuyasha screamed, drawing his sword. “What did you do with Kagome?”
Koga’s eyes shot toward his clothes laid out beside the pool. “W-why would you think I knew where she was, you mutt?”
“After the day we last met, I have searched everywhere for her,” Inuyasha explained as he slowly approached the pool. “She did not go back to her own time. She was not in any village nearby. The last place where I could detect any hint of her scent was where we ran into you.”
“Listen,” Koga said, stepping toward the edge of the pool where his clothes were. “I did not harm her.”
Seeing where Koga was heading, Inuyasha moved to cut him off. However, when he stepped on Koga’s loincloth, he was shocked to hear a voice.
“Inuyasha!” Kagome cried from out of nowhere. “Sit!”
The necklace the dog demon wore obediently dragged him suddenly to the rock below.
“K-Kagome…” Inuyasha grunted. “W-where…?”
“Don’t you hurt my darling Koga,” Kagome said.
Inuyahsa sniffed the air, trying to sense where Kagome was. The stink of Koga’s loincloth was overpowering, but shockingly, Inuyahsa could detect the faintest trace of Kagome’s scent on it.
“The loincloth…?” Inuyasha said, rolling to his side so that he could see it beneath his leg.
“Yes,” Kagome said. “I was blessed to become Koga’s loincloth by a jewel shard. Now, I can live forever right next to his most wonderful body parts.”
Inuyasha looked shocked, then he became angry and turned his head to stare at Koga. “You knew she was your loincloth,” Inuyasha accused him. “Didn’t you?”
“I did not do this to her on purpose,” Koga replied. “It was the power of the jewel.”
“Why did you keep it a secret?” Inuyasha asked, staggering to his feet with Koga’s clothes beneath him. “You left her trapped like this!”
“She was so happy,” Koga explained. “She begged me to let her stay like that.”
Inuyasha felt his body fill with a demonic fury, readying himself to destroy the wolf demon. “I’m going to kill you!” he screamed. “Then, I’ll find a way to turn her back to normal.”
Koga stood his ground, a look of fear on his face.
“No!” cried Kagome’s voice from beneath Inuyasha’s foot. “I won’t let you harm Koga!”
The magic of the shard activated again to curse Inuyasha as Kagome desired it to do. In a flash of light, the armor, which Koga wore like a shirt, disappeared. Then, Inuyasha felt his body seized by magic not unlike how the necklace had just dragged him down. This time, though, his body stiffened forcing him to stand still.
“What are you…?” Inuyasha grunted, but he was cut off when he felt his body begin to reshape. He struggled in vain, and soon was unable to move at all.
He felt his body begin to flatten out, losing mass and size as it became even stiffer. His limbs were pulled back behind him, hands and feet all stretched to touch each other. Soon, his neck had disappeared sinking his head lower, losing any differentiation between it and his torso. Behind him, at the spot where his limbs touched, he felt his fingers and toes intertwine and join together into a single solid piece of flattened material.
Inuyasha felt himself rounding out as he flattened, forming a vacant space between where his limbs were and his torso. He felt his face squashed flat by unseen magic, all of his features smoothed out into an armored plate. As he settled into his new form, he sensed some other additional changes occuring, although they were nowhere near as dramatic. Straps formed where his shoulders had been and tufts of brown fur formed on top of them. Strands of fabric were tied into place on him, making it possible for him to be opened up and tied shut again. With those final details added, the magic dissipated, leaving him resting on the ground, having been transformed into Koga’s cuirasse.
Frowning, Koga approached his magically transformed clothes. He sighed, realizing he would need to wear Inuyasha after he dried off. He took his time getting dressed, making sure to put his loincloth on first.
“My love!” Kagome cried when he tied her around her his waist. “Did you see how I saved you?”
“I saw,” Koga said, feeling deeply regretful now for not having tried to restore Kagome to normal. He put on the rest of his outfit, saving the cuirasse for last.
As soon as he touched it he heard Inuyasha scream, “You monster! Unhand me!”
Koga sighed again and opened Inuyasha. Then, Koga slipped the dog demon onto his torso.
“What are you doing?” Inuyasha screamed. “Get me off of your filthy body!”
“Inuyasha!” Kagome cried, outraged. “How dare you insult the body of our wonderful owner?”
“No one owns me!” Inuyasha replied. “Turn me back now, and I can rescue you.”
“It’s too late,” Koga said. “You’ll be changing your mind about me soon, mutt. The same thing happened to Kagome.”
“Fat chance,” Inuyasha said, his voice full of defiance. “I’ll never feel anything but contempt for you.”
Koga began to walk away from the pool, wondering if there were some way to silence the voices of his cursed clothing.
Inuyasha wondered what he could do to save himself and Kagome. Maybe he could find a way to reason with Koga. Threats had had no effect on the wolf demon, which meant all Inuyasha was able to do now was shame Koga into finding a way to free them. As he tried to formulate an argument that might sway Koga, he found himself distracted by the sensation of Koga moving around within him. Inuyasha could sense the warmth of the wolf demon’s body as he traveled. He could hear the beating of his heart, feel the swelling and contracting of his rib cage as his lungs filled and emptied. Koga’s muscles flexing seemed impressively powerful from this perspective. Inuyasha found himself almost admiring the vitality of the body that wore him.
“Koga,” Inuyasha said. “I beg you, help us. I will do whatever you want.”
“You don’t have to do anything,” Koga said. “You just need to protect me.”
“Protect you? I-I will,” Inuyasha said, feeling surprisingly inspired by the idea of serving as a protector to the enormous body that wore him. “I will protect you,” he said and felt compelled to add the word, “Master.”
“Good,” Koga said, sensing that it was nearly over now. “You will be my obedient pet. Eh, mutt?”
“Y-yes,” Inuyasha said, amazed by how exciting he found the prospect of being the pet dog of this wonderful wolf demon. “I will be your loving pet!”
“You see now,” Kagome interjected. “You see how amazing it is to belong to Koga.”
“I do,” Inuyasha replied with growing fervor. “Koga is my world, my everything. How could I ever have insulted him? I was a fool. Forgive me, master.”
Koga sighed deeply, wondering how he had let things go this far. “I forgive you, mutt. For now, quiet down. I have much to think about.”
“Yes, master,” Inuyasha replied. “I will be silent until you command me.”
“My love,” Kagome said after a minute of silence. “Are you proud of me? Do you love me, still?”
“I love you, Kagome,” Koga said as he lept off into the fog that blanketed the wilderness ahead. Meanwhile, his loins hardened against her, giving proof of his words.
