Chapter 6 - He selects a bully.

Walking down the hall, Tim’s mind wandered through the endless possibilities that the app opened for him. Had he been paying more attention to where he was going, he might have noticed the bully in his way.

Chris Baker was big, mean, and dumb, a dangerous combination of attributes. Normally, Tim would avoid Chris at all costs, as Tim was small, gentle, and smart, making him a natural target for the bully. Chris enjoyed humiliating anyone he could, so long as he thought he could get away with it. Aside from threatening people to get money or to get his schoolwork done for him, Chris simply enjoyed making people squirm and cower before him, surrendering to him in defeat. It filled him with sadistic glee.

By accident, Tim stepped on Chris’s shoe. Suddenly, Tim felt himself shoved to the floor before he even realized what he had done.

“Watch where you’re going, dork,” Chris said, looming over Tim.

“S-sorry,” Tim stammered in response, not daring to stand up.

Chris looked ready to continue his revenge, but he paused when he noticed a teacher just a little way down the hall. Although Chris was dumb, he knew enough to keep out of trouble most of the time.

“You okay, buddy?” Chris asked loudly enough for the teacher to hear. “Let me help you up.” Chris roughly dragged Tim back to his feet and smiled at him. Then, Chris whispered, “I’ll catch you later, shrimp.”

Tim stood there, stunned, as Chris brushed past him. After a similar encounter with Chris, Tim normally would have spent the rest of the day in fear, creeping around the building, trying to dodge the bully. Today, however, was different. Tim pulled up his phone, opened the app, and snapped a picture of Chris as the bully turned a corner. The app asked if Tim wanted to select Chris as a subject, and he did. A caption appeared beneath the picture:

Tim smiled, knowing he had the upper hand on Chris at last. With a few words, Tim could wreck the bully’s life in so many ways. The only problem now was figuring out what punishment would be best. After a moment of consideration, Tim realized that this might be a good opportunity to play around with the awareness settings for the app. After all, what good would it be to mess with Chris if the bully was not aware of it? Tim wanted Chris to wallow in humiliation, just as Chris had made others feel many times before. It was time for retribution.

But, what should Tim do to Chris?

He turns the bully into a girl. (6.1)

He turns the bully into a nerd.

He twists the bully’s mind.
