Zoey sprite collection
Added 2020-04-09 02:39:19 +0000 UTCThis is a new kind of post I'll be doing through the month of April, it'll show off all of the outfits so far for each character. Many of you might've seen early previous of Zoey not too long back, but this is a all in one collection! ^^
Zoey is known for being childish, airhead, aloof and clumsy. She is Nathan's cousin who seems to not be too bright and as to why that is seems to be a complete mystery? She like Miki has quite a bit of childish and odd hobbies for how she spends her day.
When designing Zoey, much like Juliet there was quite a bit of design changing going on. Along with that much of it was also personality changes. She started out as her 3d placeholder model, which went with a bit of a different look that I felt didn't match how I had envisioned her final look. Then with her actual 1st real sketch concept, there's some difference in how she looks vs her final seen there, it still didn't feel right for the kind of character she was and how she acts. Which lead us to her final sprite look, which I think nails it perfectly.
Now considering her personality, much of it originally was about the same as we see it today. But there was going to be major difference in that she was affected by a coma and play a huge role in her character, this of course never made it. I not only felt that I wasn't able to write for such a complex character on that level and keep track of things personally, but there was also some questionable concerns that came up. The major thing is with how she looks vs acts and knowing she was in a coma, affecting how she doesn't see herself as her current age.. Needless to say it was a lot of grey danger zone concept, that I wasn't willing to risk.
Zoey's designs for clothing she enjoys to wear is meant to be pretty childish in nature, for some reason she enjoys the whole innocent, cutesy stuff and sees nothing wrong with dressing like that.
