Gui textbox voting poll!
Added 2020-03-24 17:53:45 +0000 UTCSo, with the recent changes to the gui getting it's finished simple, yet very fitting themes finished. I wanted to reach out to all our fans and supporters to ask if the text is too hard to read and if there's a few things we can do on our end to help fix that.
By "text" I'm mostly focusing on actual dialogue text in the textbox area of the gui. Right now this is how the game's text looks (not fullscreen/stretched to fit your monitor aka 1280x720) Here
Below are a few examples of other options that I feel would help from minor adjustments to major adjustments, some staying within the theme for the gui and others ignoring the gui theme/colors.
(Option 1) leave it as how it is currently above, keep it the default look.
(Option 2) Here. The text stays the same as option 1, except it's bold.
(Option 3) Here. The text completely becomes black, ignoring any color scheme with the gui.
(Option 4) Here. The text is similar to option 1 except the font style is changed.
(Option 5) Here. The text is similar to option 3, becoming black text. But tries to be a little bit similar to how other text looks for the gui, minus the color difference. Aka other text on the gui elements has the outline color that's white around it's text.
I am open to suggestions for font styles or other possible options to look into, or even a mix of the above. These are just a few examples of what I was able to try out and go from minor changes to the extreme.

I think the light blue outline in options 1 and 2 gives a nice somewhat contrasting border that makes the text easier to read on the pink background. Option 5 is too contrasting in my opinion and actually makes it harder to read.
2020-03-25 03:36:21 +0000 UTCI thought capslock was yelling, and bold is just a more serious tone? But if everything is bold to begin with, then it just becomes the new normal, no? At least that's how I look at it myself but that's just me. Anyway I think it's a small price to pay for a bigger benefit of increased legibility regardless. It still looks plenty good even with the smaller font size. That might help you account for the slightly more space that bold font tends to take up in general vs. normal font too, as far as not having your text lines get too long to fit in the text box without clipping or etc.

Also to give a better idea how the game will look when ran in it's natural 1280x720 aspect. I put it on top of a 1920x1080 aspect blank white image. Remember the game's window can be stretch fitted to fit your monitor to help make things easier to read too. Just wanted to give a good comparison.) Edit: It might not be exact 100% how it would look still, give or take imagine it's text a little less bigger than it's seen. Not by too much like 1/10th of the scale removed. Sorry to make it confusing. >.<
2020-03-24 21:25:58 +0000 UTCI'm glad to hear some feedback on this so far! ^^ Also one thing to note is that with the bold (option 2) the text size could be lowered so it's not so big compared to option 1 where it's not bold. If that seems to be what might be giving it this "screaming" feel to it? Still taking feedback and testing this all out of course! It's my wish to make sure the text is easy to read and still nice looking too. <3

2020-03-24 20:58:16 +0000 UTCOf all the 5 options presented, 2 is definitely the easiest of the bunch to read for me personally. It's nice in that it gets to keep the matching colors still too.
