Topic Priority Poll

Hope you all enjoyed the special Patreon release (post below this one if you didn't get a notification).

I was also hoping to get a steer on topic prioritisation and so here's the poll! Multiple choice is enabled so you don't have to pick only one.

Would love to see a future video on the new US policy allowing small unit commanders (O-6 Lt. Col. and above) to authorize the use and purchase of Group 1 and 2 UAS. Understand it makes more sense to wait until we see how this guidance gets implemented... I assume the USMC MEUs all jumped on Alibaba the day after the announcement, while the US Army will likely be providing specific guidance to unit commanders in the FY28 time frame. I think this will be a VERY interesting case study in defense economics, either because it's wildly successful or a fascinating dumpster fire.

Have a topic/question for the future: Are the French good Partners in defense programmes/ security guarantees? Obviously the comparison would be against the US or Chinese as security guarantors. Specifically curious about defense procurement programs or how sanguine we are about nuke sharing but could also expand to French activity in Africa which was touched before.

Finally got around to joining! Not sure if you're still watching responses here, but a thought after seeing this poll. One UN Security Council state conspicuously absent from the nation studies is the UK. While I would normally balk at being lumped in with the UK, in this case I wonder if you might consider talking about Ireland if/when you cover the UK. We aren't close to rating an episode to ourselves, but given the shared geography we could be considered as a major vulnerability for the UK, as well as sharing some vulnerabilities. Wouldn't take long to assess us either 😂 although things do seem to be starting to shift towards the right direction with us joining the EU's military procurement agreement, consultation open for a new maritime defence strategy, and even whispers of exploring jets for our air corps. (If you do, just please don't call us part of the British Isles, we don't like the historic baggage of that term).

Now that NATO has 'committed' to 5% of GDP by 2035, what would Peruns shopping list be? Doesnt have to be all 32 countries obviously! Although a 32 part mini series would be nice!

How does Russia become a global military with there budget? Low labor costs and energy?

I propose a segment on hybrid warfare. Unrelated to the above: an Australian warship took parts of New Zealand offline: https://www.theguardian.com/australia-news/2025/jun/06/australian-navy-ship-accidentally-blocks-wifi-across-parts-of-new-zealand

I've had to add this comment twice. From a supporter in Amerika to DC reps: "TACO TACO Man: The world has changed again. Time to demand those "bone-crushing sanctions" from YOUR congress. Time to send Ukraine 10% of our stored arms to win: 350 more Bradleys, 250 M1 Abrams, all 147 retired Stryker MGS, 85 Paladin SPGs, 125 M777 Howitzers and 120 F-16 Vipers flown by our own retired pilots with 30 years experience, sadly bored on YT. And 3 more of the 8 Patriot SAMs Israel just returned to us after a 40 year loan. We can do all of that, except for the SAMs, 10 times." why is this being removed by YT I'd guess?

No idea where to put this, but the Ukrainian Forces just released a segment on a new heavy bomber-drone. It's name? Perun (X-9)

/Users/jamesschudrowitz/Desktop/DSCN1014.JPG During the late '80s, the ground-launched cruise missiles in europe were USAF operated. I was there, in Sicily and Germany. I did command post stuff. Before the M-9, we were issued the M-15. I was at Wueschheim for initial operating capability and The End. The moose is from National Lampoon's "Wally World" adventures. I had a fun day shooting the Bundeswehr's G-3 and MG-3 weapons to earn that medal in gold. I spent too much time for my own good doing missile stuff, so I have a couple of baubles. The hat was my "soft cover" when "in the woods". Love your stuff!

New guy here. Been a fan. Finally decided to pitch in.

I’d would love an episode about Australia or Aukus, especially with the coming elections over there. I noticed that this is not something you usually talk about. Is there any specific reason for it ?

What about an analysis of The Great Emu War, which threatened fair Emutopia, together with its conspiratorial provocations by the Fascist Kiwi State?
