My thanks and the plan for 2025

G'day all,

At this point just about all of you should have clicked over to the 1st of Jan so I can actually say Happy New Year to you all.

I wanted to include a few thoughts and updates on what you can expect to see from the channel (and as Patrons) in 2025 but first, let me say the most important part.

Thank you.

Getting the chance to run this channel is an incredible privilege, and one that continues to owe an enormous amount to all of you and the support you provide.

In 2025, I want to say thank you for that by offering additional Patron content. This has been discussed here a few times but I didn't want to start doing it before I could be sure it could be consistent with it. Now that I've planned it out, I think I'm in a position to push forward with it.

What I've started preparing is a series of short additional videos on topics that don't make it onto the main channel or extend on topics we talk about. They won't have the same glitz and will be significantly shorter than primary releases, but initially at least these should be making it up roughly monthly. Once they start going up, I'll take feedback on how they evolve going forward.

I'm also looking at extended cuts of edited pieces like interviews which are planned for this year.

Finally - I have a massive backlog of Patreon messages. I will be looking to work through that over the course of this month, and then try to remain at least more up to date with them going forward.

There are also a few other things you can expect to see this year that aren't quite at the announcement phase yet, but please stay tuned. I'll keep polling here fairly regularly whenever I have a choice to make about future content prioritisation.

Perun gaming will likewise make a return, initially with the close of the X4 series and a return to Terra Invicta.

What you won't see in 2025 is a switch away from the PowerPoint format or me always doing my absolute utmost to deliver the best output I can.

Thank you again for all of your support in 2024, and I wish each and every one of you the best in 2025.

It would seem that an update of the Russian Oil sector and the short/long term consequences it faces by continuing the war....As you pointed out very early on, Russia has lost this war at a strategic level....stronger NATO/Europe, cost of getting any benefit from Ukraine territories, recalibration of image of Russian military equipment/power, the loss of another cohort of its population, etc. You might take a "flyer" on Putin losing power...process and consequences.

In latest video, someone commented we (as a community) create a Wiki on Kiwiland and Emutopia based on your videos to date. Not only will this make a fantastic lore piece for us nerds, but will provde a solid hypothetical case study and context on current geopolitics, e.g. the Emu-Kiwian war, trade economics, defence procurement, etc. No idea about how to run a wiki, but I have spare hosting space and/or can set one up (web dev/design background). BTW Happy New Year Perun - been a massive fan of your work since "All Bling, No Basics".

Dan Ma

Some of your earlier Ukraine articles could be re-visited in the ~~2 years that have passed??

Good morning Perun, what are your thoughts on the US’s new AI chip sales restrictions to most of the world, but most especially China. Is this similar to the oil embargo to Japan prior to World War II or a minor escalation. President Trump is about to take office, do you think he will remover or increase these restrictions? What kind of stumbling block will this act likely cause for China’s economy but most importantly to its military forces and how long will it take them to catch back up? How will this affect US foreign relations with the rest of the world? Thank you for all your well made power point lectures they are the highlight of my Sundays and I wish you the absolute best this year!

Long live emutopia

Nina Mcmunn

I want to hear more about Emutopia pending war with Kiwiland. Based on how well North Korean troops are doing in Kurst region, should you recommend hiring them as mercenaries to lead the invasion of Kiwiland?

Graham Rankin

I wish you a happy and healthy new year. Would love to see some more content about Ukraine, maybe even the defense/humanitarian economic side of it, stuff like NGO / private initiatives, NAFO or domestic inventions and production of stuff.

Theo Keizers

Happy New Year mate. Stoked to hear you're going strong. Pleased to see Kiwiland'll make it through the aerial bombardment okay.

Teddy

My brother and my son both have both worked in the 5-sided DC block wall. They find your videos succinct and wished they could interject you humor into some meetings. Looking forward to the monthly shorts Keep up the great work

Maddogpilot

Really looking forward to the finishing moves of your X4 saga! And interested to see what's new in Terra Invicta

Biofoot78

Happy New Year! You've have, by far, created one of the best UTube channels out there I studied history. Ironically the same as you may have done. I studied Russia, especially the first and second world wars I've found your insights into logistics and procurement fascinating as it dovetails with so much of my studies. Your presentations are superbly done and a joy to listen too. When I was a boy, 60 odd years ago, I came across a line in a history book that said " an army marches on its stomach " and that was it, logistics had entered my life. My studies soon became linked not just to why armies fight wars but to how they fought. All that to say Thank You for all the time, effort and polish you put into your presentations I must admit I look forward to Sundays with a nice coffee and a listen to your latest offerings. It's a privilege to support your excellence here on Patreon. My best to you and yours in the New Year. 🇨🇦

Could you do a video on "Does Terrorism Work?" or possibly "Cyberwarfare" - on terrorism, what does it take to work? On Cyberwarfare - what it is and what can countries do to counter cyberwarfare? Just a couple thoughts. Love your work!

Michael Lambert

Happy new year, keep up the incredible work!

Eric N

+1 i would say that most of Patreons will be here because they think the weekly update is already worth paying for. So take it easy

Daniel K

In your episode 'Worst WW2 Air Force', on the very last aircraft, you commented on specifying a specific air con unit in a tank and wheelbase on a helicopter. I was wondering if one of the Patreon Perks might be you note here who did that, if you are allowed to say.

Andrew Maltby

Finally got time (around the family) the watch 'The Worst WW2 Air Force'. Very well done and nice and light. One comment on the YouTube site was a follow up at say easter with you 'fixing' the damage done. Just wanted to add that here in case you didn't see it, I think that was a good idea.

Andrew Maltby

Happy New Year from the Mighty Kiwiland may we always be victorious over the Emus' ((at least in rugby). Look after yourself also, as this you-tube lark can quickly become a beast. Also also any chance of colabs with say Drachinfel, The Chieftain or Tik?

Kiwiruna

Sounds good. Keep up the good work

Rick Edwards

Happy New Year to you too. The only thing I want from you is to take care of yourself first and foremost. Your health, mental and physical is more important then us getting our fix of your wonderful work. Hugs T

Tom Joyce

Couldn't agree more. Also, your choice to wait a week before your Syria episode was an excellent decision.

George Robertson

I, for one, have been recommending your videos widely, both for your prescient accuracy and the adventures of Private Conscriptovich.

George Robertson

Have a Happy New Year too! Thanks for providing a very informative channel, unlike a bunch of crap that “influencers” are pumping out these days.

John Cryer

Happy new you Perun, and thank you very much for bringing forth your great insight and humor to us all.

Rune

Have a wonderful 2025. And thanks again for creating the channel. If I were to be left with a single YT subscription channel - it would be you. Hands down. Its not only most useful and informative, but it's also entertaining. While working in a different field I sometimes try to emulate your communication style (by which I am not admitting to any copyright infringement, mind you). You are doing fantastic work.

Michał Drwal

This is a very interesting idea, I second this.

Treebeard1224

Whole heartily agree. My decision to support through is based on content you are already making. Please don't overextend out of misplaced obligation.

Mike Zitter

Happy New Year, Perun

AllenYC

Great work and I’m curious if your channel activities are garnering any positive spillover effect in your ‘day job’?

Richard Ray

Isn’t power point video an oxymoron? No one narrates a military slide show as well as you.

Richard Dietzen

I agree! His work load must already be insane and increasing it further might just backfire big time

Thel 'Vadam

I'd love to see your analysis of where the concept of "warfare without budget' might go next in the Ukrainian conflict. With Russia running put of mothballed armour and Ukraine potentially running out of US support, could we see either side utilising cheap and dirty options like Technicals in substantial numbers?

Guy Dudley

Happy New Year, Perun!

Jessica Fields

Happy New Year and thanks for everything you do.

Trevayne

Agreed.

Treebeard1224

Happy New Year Perun. Well done - and a big thank you - for another year of superb videos.

ROGER STEMP

Happy New Year to you and all the patreon people!

ScootyMcPooty

Happy new year everyone!

alexander gaitan

Happy New Year. Just a thought on additional content: at times you seem to have a lot going on. If creating additional content is burning you out, please don't make it a priority. I know that none us signed up because of extra content, and if that endeavor puts extra burden on you, I for one say that it's completely unnecessary. Thanks for all you already do.

qbNone

Happy New Year from Iowa, USA. If you ever make it anywhere near here a beer and a steak are on me. I know not likely but you know Chicago, KC, Minneapolis are all places MAYBE you might visist.

John Bryant

Thank you for all that you do. You do amazing work that we greatly appreciate.

Brian Reczek

Thank you and Happy New Year. I cannot believe that I have listened to all those powerpoint presentations since "All Bling and No Basics" and after each, was looking forward to the next. Congratulations on the success of this brilliant channel

John Vissenga

Happy New Year and (assuming I didn't screw up my math) congrats on one hundred and fifty PowerPoint presentations!

Treebeard1224

Thank you, Perun, for timely and informative content.

Beanbag753

Happy New Year & Federation Day! Many thanks for the intelligent commentary and well-crafted content. Best wishes for 2025.

Zan Zastrow

You're welcome, and thank you to you, too. I support you because some content creators are just that good - sharing new, unique, interesting, information dense, content I wouldn't otherwise find, and doing it with just the right amount of humor and amusement value. Thank you for giving us the opportunity to collectively offer our appreciation. When two people in a transaction walk away both saying "Thank you" to one another, that's a success. So, "thank you" to Patreon and YouTube and all the other technological and political layers that make this transaction possible.

Strawberry GS

Happy new year!

Happy New Year Perun! Many thanks for the outstanding work. We all here are on the needl of your great PP presentations and are eagerly waiting for more. I hope you can keep the balance and avoid overworking, so you can stay healthy and let us enjoy the channel. Everything else seems less important to me.

Happy New Year! 🎊 Let's all get on board for the big win 💪

Many thanks for your excellent work on your channel Perun. And as for the format, it suits me very well. I have to admit I often just listen so video would be wasted on me🙂. All the best from far south west Emutopia🙂.

Aussie Stevo

Thanks mate

Aaron Wilson
