Cut content - Battle management systems and networks

As promised - I wanted to start giving short insights into why some content either gets delayed indefinitely or cancelled, giving examples of why I do so.

Content can go this way for a variety of reasons - one being my aversion to risk, and my determination to avoid making any statements that I can't support with Open Source information, as opposed to sources like interviews (so as to avoid falling too far into the "source: trust me bro" abyss)

A segment on Ukrainian and Russian battle management systems and various apps and tools was put on hold for this reason (similar to EWAR, since that topic is made much, much richer by showing off maps of EW activity and talking about adaptations and counter-adaptations).

There have been some things said in public about the use and utility of various systems like GIS Arta (which Ukrainian units have used to help call and coordinate artillery fire). These systems (and Russia's systems in turn), their capabilities (and, in some cases, vulnerabilities or limitations) are a significant part of the story of the war in Ukraine.

That said, in the course of investigating and discussing these systems with those who understand them and their use, it quickly became clear that (in my view) the most interesting parts of this story shouldn't be told yet. I considered trying to sanitise the topic, but instead decided on parking it until the most fascinating parts of the story make it into open source or are no longer sensitive.

I am hoping I'll be able to talk about these systems, their use, and the process of defending and updating systems like these during a war in the future. But for now, I hope this was interesting for you all!

Interesting topic. Deep respect for your quality ethics.

As someone who has dealt with the pain of using modern BMS systems. I'd definitely be interested in the topic
