Charity Vote
Added 2022-11-27 08:59:12 +0000 UTCHi all,
In the video that goes up tonight on Polish military modernisation (I needed a one week break from Ukraine while unwell because my processing speed for data is slower) I mention that there will be a poll on Patreon over where to direct charity funds for November/December. This is one of the primary reasons I decided to accept sponsors, albeit only those where I have used the product in question.
I've decided to go ahead with the vote but given the awful humanitarian conditions in Ukraine following the recent missile campaign, I've decided I will be increasing the amount allocated and donating to both causes regardless of the result. Voting will just determine how I split the funds.
One last point - because I get annoyed when I see other creators be vague on these things:
I don't donate my Patreon funds. I've used them to pay guest speakers & contributors like my audio editor, and to cover my time. Donations are funded from sponsorships on the channel, so never feel like you need to support me on the assumption they're being used for charity. I hugely appreciate the support you all provide me, it makes a huge difference, but I never want to be taking money under false pretences.

If there is a method of giving directly to the armed forces, that is my preference. Getting Russia out, along with their genocidal tendencies, is worth more than reconstruction after the fact. At least in my opinion. Just my $0.02

Americans in Ukraine Foundation USINUA.ORG. Been there since the beginning 2014. Don’t waste your money on a lot of charities, only 40-50% goes to end user, rest is for board members, travel whatever. We have spent our life savings. I’ve lost 3 friends in this war. I spend almost every free hour helping. I’m not in the foundation, I am a participant in the war.
