LASTLY: Taylor Swift remains the queen of writing 'we had a big fight and got over it' love songs!

ALSO I don't know if anyone else pointed this out, but Lover and Death By a Thousand Cuts are spiritual cousins. She repeats 'My' in both, speechless in Lover by all the things that she names in anger in DBATC's bridge. ALSO, the studio is weird, and we're about to start it, but if you don't like the studio, watching to it live on Tiny Desk or Lover in Paris is a MUST. Trust us.
Edit: THANK GOD. You still want to see her guitar and gasp the bridge acoustically

(I want to preface this with, I LOVE these love songs and love IS full of anxiety, and it's not necessarily bad to love a love song that acknowledges that! But I do find it interesting)
One thing I can't get away from with this album is the way that, for Taylor, love is just as much about anxiety as it is about romance. Even her arguably MOST romantic songs from the album have an invisible string of anxiety running through them--'can we always be this close?' 'I hope I never lose you' etc. It harks back to Out of the Woods from 1989, to the 'burning red' of Red, and how even in Daylight, her soft-edged, pastel hued romantic dreams have the undercurrent of hoping it won't end. I won't spoil anything, but there are songs on TTPD written for Travis that *aren't anxious at all.* You want growth? That's growth right there.

You missed one song from Lover. Everyone was pointing out on chat and you just ignored LOL

Miss Americana and the Heartbreak Prince, your admiration for the subtle qualities in her writing, is maybe just your first clear opportunity to appreciate how she layers that into most of her lyrics. What I mean is, yes, there's blatant calls to lore, but there's often also more subtle themes and nods and that's often lost in the "paternity test" debates.

When you get to Midnights and the concept for that album, remember Lovers altro.

Lover is an album I’ll put on when I’m in a bad mood and need a good dance it out moment, and that’s why I adore it

Definitely think Miss Americana and the heartbreak prince is in reaction to 2016 election. so many lyrics point to pretty direct references. things said on the news even. And Cornelia Street really is the all too well of this album. there are some boring songs for me but this album has some truly classic taylor songs and I love most of the album sooo much! Cannot wait for the next run of 4 albums. Her lyricism pops off in all of them.

I can't believe we're already at folklore, I really hope you love the album. Lover was definitely a grower for me, once all the songs clicked though I couldn't stop listening to it and I really don't get the lover hate even though I really disliked it myself the first time I heard it 😂
