Lori looked a bit nervous as she softly replied, "Truth.." It appeared that she was choosing the option with less potential negative repercussions. Ashley hesitated, she took a long drink from the beer she had just stolen from Nick. "Didn't I say no more for you two?" Lori said disapprovingly. Ashley stopping drinking to reply, "I never lost the card game, you all drank way more than I did!"

Daniel took a long sip from his own beer than burped loudly and said, "Hell yeah, tell 'em honey." It was obvious by this point that Daniel was fairly intoxicated. Nicknoticed his mother's eyes flicker briefly in his direction as she reaffirmed the answer to Ashley's question, but she looked away as she retreated to the kitchen.

Everyone else sat in the living room quietly, waiting for Lori to return. It was clear no one really knew what to say, so an awkward silence filled to room instead. Nick also made a point to sip on his beer a couple times to pass the time while they waited for Lori to return. When she did she had 5 beers and she handed on to each member of the family. "If the game is going to be this inappropriate I think we'll all need another one of these." She said as she handed a beer to each other them. Nick quickly finished the one he had and opened the one his mother gave him. He was feeling fairly drunk himself now, and wasn't prepared to be asked anything when his mother said, "Truth or dare?" Nick was pretty certain this was not what she was initially going to dare him to do, but shrugged and got up. He did about 17 pushups before really slowing down and then last 2 were quite difficult but he powered through. Nick stood up and said, "Alright, all done." He looked at his mother and she was biting her bottom lip and her fingers were dancing along the top of her beer distractedly. She had a glazed look in her eye like she was thinking about something else. Nick took a second to wink at his mother and she arched one eyebrow as if to say, Stop that. but the smile that curled on the edges of her mouth said she wasn't actually that upset.

Nick sat down and noticed that his dad's eyes were only about halfway open now. He wasn't asleep, but it was clear that the alcohol was pushing him in that direction. "Truth or dare little sister?" Nicksaid to Lynn. "Dare!" She said excitedly. "I dare you to twerk!" Nick said taking another sip of his beer. "Sure! Watch this!" Daniel downed the remainder of his beer and said, "Let's go with... dare." Lynn smiled and said, "Okay then, I dare you to go get us all another beer." Daniel chuckled and stood. It took a second for him to gain his balance and then he said ,"Easy enough." And walked off towards the kitchen, though he wobbled a bit as he left. Once he was gone Lori said, "I need you kids to stop being so inappropriate. Your father might be drunk but if this continues it's going to be trouble for all of us." Her tone was serious, but the look on her face said she was feeling more relaxed about the situation than her tone would lead them to believe. Nickadmired his mother in that moment. "Hmmm you are so drunk that for the rest of the night, anything that happens will probably be hard to remember. Hmmm" Daniel nodded again and Nicknoticed a small smile on his face as if he thought this suggestion was funny. "Hmmm in fact everything that happens tonight from here on out is just a big crazy dream. Hmmm" Daniel nodded again without hesitation. Nick wondered for a moment if the alcohol was making his dad more open to suggestions than usual, but quickly dropped the thought. Now was not the time to consider theories. "Hmmm I suggest you wait here for 90 seconds and then wake up and rejoin your family in the living room to continue playing truth or dare, but remember it's just a dream. Hmmm" Daniel nodded again and Nick sprinted back into the living room.

"Okay I may have hypnotized dad..." Nick started. "What did you do?!" Lori asked, a bit startled. "I just told you... I hypnotized dad. I told him that anything else that happens tonight is just a dream... so... we can do whatever we want. He'll just remember anything that happens as a crazy dream." Lynn bounced excitedly in place and Ashley just smiled slowly shaking her head and then took another sip of beer. Lori looked horrified and was clearly on the verge of objecting when Daniel re-entered the room with five beers in hand. "Here you go, it's my turn now, isn't it?" He said handing a bear to each if them and taking his original seat. "Yes dear." Lori said a perplexed look on her face. She was clearly confused as to how her husband could possibly think this was just a dream when he appeared so conscious. "Truth or dare babe?" Daniel asked her.

"What? Oh uh dare I suppose. Wait no truth sorry." Lori said quickly. "Nope! You said dare first mom!" Lynn said with a giggle. "She's got you there honey. Alright then, I dare you to sit in our son's lap." Everyone's eyebrows shot up. Even Nick's, it was clear no one saw this coming. Lori turned back to her husband and asked, "Umm okay.. for how long?" Daniel laughed and said, "Until Nick says he's uncomfortable." Then he opened his beer and took another sip. "Umm okay.. Lori said standing and walking over to Nick.
