The pocketwatch hasn't lead you astray before so you decide to follow its lead despite the risks.

You both venture forward into the fog and you watch as the forest seems to shift and close behind you. You both silently walk on the forgotten road afraid to make too much noise. The paranoia sets in and you both close around the pocketwatch, not daring to let go. The trees become more and more twisted by the moment paired with the echos of bird cries occasionally broken up by your own footsteps. Eventually, you both come across your first landmark, something that stands out from the mass of green and orange. You see a candle. Strange though it may be, you both shrug it off as some sort of magic the hotel has to offer. The candles increase in number as you walk alongside them. Their gentle glow giving off a warmth that calms the heart. Even though it is chilly and winds blow between the trunks, the candles seem only to flicker slightly, unaffected by the gusts. You feel safe but still on edge.

Eventually you spot the first man-made structure. It's a statue, broken in half. The top portion completely missing with the nameplate eroded by the ages since it was constructed. You look at the base of the stone and see a hilt of some sorts planted before it; an homage to someone long forgotten. You both look at each other, unsure what to make of it.
