HOTEL LEX - FLOOR 3 (11/?)

You quickly duck inside a tent where you pull at your face. You reach towards the back of your head trying to find the strap as the pain slowly subsides. You pull at the horns but they feel glued to your skull. You reach for the edge of the mask but something tells you that you'll only find what you already know. Slowly you lift your hands from your face and look around in the tent. You spot a mirror and rush over to it.

The mask, soft and squishy at first, has hardened into your head. The features seamlessly blend in with your face. With great hesitation, you open your mouth to see rows and rows of sharp teeth that are not your own. You blink and rub your eyes, the eyes now resembling slits of those of a dragon. You scramble to find where the mask ends and your own face begins but there doesn't seem to be one.

"First time?" a voice suddenly rings out.

You spin around to see a stallion amongst the objects of the tent. He looks at you gently from the shadows, his chest heaving. He sits with his legs wide apart... not wearing any pants. He puffs a cloud of smoke from his pipe.

"Usually there young-ins scared of their first time. The circus brings out the worst in us and done go transforms us into something else. Sometimes it be different, sometimes you don't recognize who be looking back at you in that darned mirror right there," he says.

Your eyes meet and you almost jump back in shock. Half his face seems to be rotted away.

"It's just the start, once that bell strikes 12 we'll all long be gone," he sips another cloud of smoke, "And then we all wake up not remembering yesterday. All you know is, once that happens, the circus' done taken yer soul."
