It is just different than what came after, but it also fits entirely within the development from high to low, from dumber to smarter (or vice versa with Baldrick). …but we'll see how some of the '80s humour sits with the poor unsuspecting gals. 😅

I think he did a marvelous job, because it is gorgeous, wonderfully scored, and he gets excellent performances across the board. #2: they had already cast Rosamund Pike but felt that they had to get her approval for Bingley. The guy they went with was her ex—they had broken up the year before. #3: the book we see Lizzie reading in the opening shot is called First Impressions, which was Austen’s original title for the book.
