No, why would I? What's the issue?

what irritates you? do you know what is typical for trill and what does kat have trouble seeing.

?

Really loved this episode. Fun to see Quark and Kira again. And DS9 looked awesome in animation. Can't wait for the next episode reaction. It's different. Lol

Travis Boyle

I always identified with Wesley. Similar age, intelligent and misunderstood. / I'm glad that Kat is showing more interest in DS9. I would hope that she only looks at the center of Dax's face and can ignore the edges.

I am a straight, white guy, but as someone who suffers from social anxiety, I got my representation moment when Barclay showed up in TNG. it was nice knowing that the future has a place for shy, awkward people.

DS9 from S3 is basically proto-BSG; Romo revisited so many of the tropes he used in DS9. BSG would not exist without it.

Troy Convers

DS9 is my favorite as well. I love the whole series from top-to-bottom. "In the Pale Moonlight" remains my number one episode of all the Star Trek episodes in any series, with "The Visitor" being a close second. Both are DS9 episodes. Just the sheer worldbuilding DS9 pulled off with the alien races -- including the well-known ones like the Klingons -- and the fact that we also got to see things through the non-federation races' eyes as well still hasn't been matched in the franchise. It also helps that Ron Moore's dirty little fingerprints are all over DS9 from S3 onward. You can't tell from his work on BSG, but Moore is a hard-core Trekkie and it really shows in DS9. *ahem* I'll stop whittering about DS9. But as an interesting Lower Decks-related bit of Trivia, Tawny Newsome's favorite Star Trek is also DS9 and she was hopping mad when the original script didn't even have Mariner step foot on the station. They literally re-wrote the ending so Mariner could interact with both Kira and Quark. (And to answer the Gals' question, Kira Nerys is when I felt seen by Star Trek. Someone who starts as an inflexible character and learns how to rise to the occasion by being learning how to be flexible. She's my girl!)

Lizbeth Marcs

Mesk sounded like someone else to me as well, only I thought he was voiced by Andy Samberg before I checked the credits.

David Bishop

This ep kinda makes me wish for a whole Lower Decks DS9 spinoff series. Go NINERS! Anyway DS9 rocks.

Worth watching 'Badda-Bing Badda-Bang' and 'Take Me Out to the Holosuite'; they're bottle episodes that are there to have some lighter moments to the larger arc. And they're funny AF.

Troy Convers

I didn't watch every Enterprise episode, but I think they did establish that Andorians, as a species, generally enjoy drawing out conflict and being antagonistic. So it makes sense that Jen was rooting for Mariner to take all her friends down a peg.

S1 is pure world building, which is just as well as they spent a big chunk of the S1 budget on the first two episodes. But to first watchers: watch everything and form your own opinions.

Troy Convers

Watched this for the DS9 bits. It's great to see Kira and Quark again. Kira looking wistfully at the wormhole. Still has the baseball. 😭 And then the LD characters come in and...oh well 😑

Troy Convers

DS9 will forever be my favourite, I love it, so many layers to that show (I'll admit seasons 1 and 2 were a bit of a slog the first time around, though since it's pretty serialized there's guides that can help you safely skip episodes in those seasons!). I adore Tendi, she's just wonderful, I mean they all are but she's just like the badass adorable of the crew!

Sue the Scottish Geek

On Jennifer being way, yeah because she had so much back story. Mariner from te start gave off pan vibes.

Robert Carson

Love this episode. I might shed a tear or two every time I watch them circling around DS9. Love your reaction, you always pick up on all the layers from the fun silly to the complex interpersonal stuff.

Alex Skyrahfall

Tendi heavy episodes are the best. There is something about the sweet nerd who is actually the biggest bad ass on the whole show that I love.

One of my FAVORITE episodes!!!

Firefly24601

As for DS9.. I never watched the show, I tried a couple of episodes but it felt a bit too dark for me, so I never continued.. I did however thoroughly enjoyed this episode regardless. I am sure there are some references and inside jokes I missed, but even I know enough about the show to realize who Quark and Nerys were.

Ashtara Levin

Ohh! what a cool discussion prompt!! .. though I'd have to think about it, so much of Star Trek makes me feel seen and heard, just by representing kindness and open communication, I don't know if there's only one moment I can pick... 🤔

Ashtara Levin

Woo, ds9! It was so great to see old characters come back.
