Sure, some of it was probably youthful rebellion, but I'm curious if he didn't get along with his parents or something like that. In the season 3 opener, when everyone was back on Earth, Boimler and Mariner went back to their families, but Rutherford seemingly just did touristy stuff with Tendi.
