Sorry y'all are discombobulated ! Unfortunately you'd have to go to the milwaukee airport to be recombobulated. I found a quick YouTube video that talks about it..... https://youtu.be/OaGh8zuWP1Y?feature=shared

Carrie Schwent

Fascinating that the one thing the torture achieved is to get Baltar to admit a truth to himself: he never willingly collaborated with the Cylons. As much as he'd get killed for it, he had no way of knowing Cylons looked human before the war. And everything he did on New Caprica and beyond was with a gun to his head. It marks a bit of a turning point in his attitude, from "I deserve to die" back towards the huge ball of ego "none of this is my fault" we know and love.

Jonathan

Holy crap! A Behind the Bastards reference in the wild! (Sorry, couldn't resist....)

Lizbeth Marcs

Paula even sang "Where everybody knows your name," so maybe she's just not familiar with the rest of the song?

Ken Quick

Or at least the one that's the most a paragon. He will make what he sees as the moral, "right" choices, regardless of practicality. I mean he gave up his seat for BALTAR fer crying out loud. Maybe not always being smart, but always trying to do right.

Nolan

Helo is the only consistently good guy in the show

Thontor

Did you not hear the music during the first bar scene? that's weird.

Thontor

Helo isn't a good person.

Troy Convers

You guys forgot about Helo in your list of good characters. In hindsight, Gaeta stabbing Baltar isn't that surprising. He joined up with Baltar cause he idealized the man and the military failed him by covering up an attempted election steal. Only for Baltar to end up being far from the pedestal Gaeta built for the man. Debauched, self-centered and incompetent. Then the Cylons come and any ideals Gaeta thought Baltar had went out the window as Baltar gave in to being a puppet leader, even signing death warrants for people they knew. Even Zarek ended up having more scruples by choosing detention over collaboration. Then Galactica returns and Gaeta grants one last chance for Gaius to prove himself, on for Baltar to weasel his way to the Cylons and help them search for Earth and lead them to the Algea Planet. Gaeta probably feels partially responsible for the events there. Plus, his aiding Baltar got him scorn, slights and nearly pushed out an Airlock by people traumatized after Baltar's disasterous year in office. No wonder Gaeta stabbed Baltar with a pen, Gaeta probably hates the man.

Nolan

No, they're still to come.

Troy Convers

Life's a beach and then you die and then you come back and then life's a beach and then you die and then you come back and then...

Mike Connaghan

"Making your way in the world today Takes everything you've got Taking a break from all your worries Sure would help a lot" A title that's a cheeky homage to the sitcom Cheers and a double meaning; the new bar on Galactica's hangar deck and a twisted alludement to Gaius' state of mind. An EJO directed episode that's as tense and dark as the 'Bushido' episode he directed on 'Miami Vice', and a vehicle for James Callis to fully plumb the depths of Gaius' despair and will to survive. He basically steals the show, and that's saying something when he's playing off McConnell and EJO, whose screen personas seem curiously written out of character at times. Incidentally, McConnell's scenes with Gaius were filmed a few different ways with her acting on different anger levels, which sort of explains the weird vibe. The glasses callback was cool though. Once again we see that torture is rarely a viable option; of course what they don't know is that Gaius' Blonde Passenger is keeping his metaphorical head above water. Tricia Helfer is claustrophobic, so the water scenes were hard for her to film. Ron Moore took a lot of inspiration for the torture method from MK Ultra; look it up if you want a sleepless night. The Behind the Bastards podcast did a great couple of episodes about it. Quite why a museum ship conveniently has psychotropic torture drugs on board is never explained, presumably they're from the Pegasus. The subplot of the betrayal of trust that Gaeta feels from Baltar Gaeta could really have been an episode on its own; I wish that we could have seen more of the Gaius/Gaeta dynamic. Kara and Lee, the new Saul & Ellen, live up to their human garbage reps while Dee and Anders have to endure the fallout; abusive behaviour 101. Lee's gaslighting is especially disgusting. I love that Dee is finally standing up to Lee, but it also feels like a situation (having a romantic relationship with Lee) she could have avoided. Who knows how things could have been had the sliding door of Billy still been an option?

Troy Convers

"Taking a break from all your worries" is a line from the classic 80s show Cheers! Check out the full lyrics for the song, it's quite a different tone than you get from the TV edit of the song.

Tim C

Hope you enjoyed the break! Now back to the worries? LOL. (That's just a joke.) I was also confused about what Gaius was whispering to Gaeta. Turns out, it's based on something from webisodes which I never saw. So you'd have to go back and watch those to know what it is.
