It's Movie Voting Time!!!
Added 2024-09-30 18:55:57 +0000 UTCAlright everyone! I took all of y'alls suggestions and insight and have put together a list of movies to vote for. These are films that I haven't seen and I tried to pick a good array of categories as well while also choosing things that are available to stream on platforms without having to rent the movie (Damn you Hitchhiker's Guide to Galaxy).
I'll let this poll go for the next day or so and then hopefully we can get this bad boy posted either this weekend or first thing next week! (I might even watch what ever lands second and third place winkwink)
I'm so excited to watch a movie with y'all!!
EDIT*** It would be the old school Robo Cop from 1987!

It most certainly is!

2024-10-02 03:43:00 +0000 UTCRobocop is my favorite of the list

2024-10-01 17:42:42 +0000 UTCAre we talking 1950s blob or the kick-ass 80s blob, which is pretty merciless so brace yourselves on that. Has the best end credits song of this list

2024-10-01 14:12:10 +0000 UTCHave to go with Robocop

2024-10-01 00:45:10 +0000 UTCIf you do do the top 3, we have a pretty good looking set of 3 developing if the votes keep trending how they are.

2024-10-01 00:41:18 +0000 UTCSimon M nailed it there about Life of Brian being required reading for us Brits. Two others that fall in or near that category are Monty Python and the Holy Grail and Withnail and I, if you want to add them onto future lists maybe too? Both hilarious!

2024-10-01 00:08:28 +0000 UTCBear in mind that lack of votes for some movies does not necessarily mean lack of interest.

2024-09-30 23:49:28 +0000 UTCSome excellent movies there but as a person who was a teen in the 1990s - and who wakes up every morning wishing it was 1999 and I was 17 again - I just have to vote for 'The Craft'.

2024-09-30 23:14:32 +0000 UTCHey Gallifrey Gals! I'm a huge fan, especially of your Steven universe reactions. I wanted to go back and rewatch some old reactions, but I noticed most of them aren't available? Is there any way for me to watch the old full length reactions? Much love -Zander W

2024-09-30 22:40:12 +0000 UTCPearl kind of needs to be seen after X, since its the 2nd in the trilogy Rosemary's Baby is a great movie but I'd add a CW/TW to near the beginning. It's not explicit but it can be disturbing. I love Bill & Ted but there is one use of a slur (which was sadly really common in the 80s) that has aged horribly and hopefully wouldn't sour the rest of the movie.

2024-09-30 21:38:11 +0000 UTCNo John Carpenter Thing?
Troy Convers
2024-09-30 21:36:37 +0000 UTCBetter to watch the TV series first; it's far superior.

2024-09-30 21:35:49 +0000 UTCYou've never seen RoboCop? Best fix that, stat!

2024-09-30 21:34:41 +0000 UTC1 life of 2 robocop and 3 bill and ted all excellent choices on brand too. Especially life of, but I love robocop and bill n ted is decent and a very fun watch! Just don't do a drinking game with it like me and friends did , or you be ending up in a coma.

2024-09-30 20:17:22 +0000 UTCI'm gonna be all wibbly-wobbly and keep changing my vote.

2024-09-30 20:13:00 +0000 UTCA few of those movies have remakes. In the case of Rosemary's Baby and RoboCop, it's a no brainer that the poll is referring to the originals, but I'm less certain about The Blob. I personally love the old school The Blob from 1958, but taking demographics into account, I'd be willing to bet that's probably not the one the majority of people would be requesting.

2024-09-30 20:05:45 +0000 UTCOh man, this was _hard_! So many good choices, but I had to go for Life of Brian. Can't go wrong with so many of these though.

2024-09-30 20:01:57 +0000 UTCRosemary's Baby gets my vote! Almost as freaky as Hereditary

2024-09-30 19:45:25 +0000 UTCI Saw The TV Glow is a beautiful masterpiece. It's haunted me for weeks.

2024-09-30 19:24:57 +0000 UTCSome might say I'm being overly dramatic. Others might say this is the most excruciating decision in history.

2024-09-30 19:23:16 +0000 UTCI notice Sophie's Choice is not listed and yet here we are.

2024-09-30 19:21:20 +0000 UTCSorry Kat that I didn't respect the spooky or gruesome options. I was first tempted to go for Bill & Ted (but mainly for the soundtrack), then compared to Life of Brian- there was only one winner for me.

2024-09-30 19:17:40 +0000 UTCI wonder how "Withnail & I" would do?..
Lemmy's Mole
2024-09-30 19:16:20 +0000 UTCSince it's October, I went with The Craft
Katie Jackson
2024-09-30 19:15:19 +0000 UTCSome great movies on the list, but I went for the one that I think should be required watching for everyone (Life of Brian).
Eytan
2024-09-30 19:09:22 +0000 UTCUnfortunately it's the cost for other people that pulls me back from watching it at the moment. But hopefully we will down the line!
Time Lord
2024-09-30 19:02:17 +0000 UTCI'd cover the cost to rent Hitchhiker's if you want to put that back on the maybe list.

2024-09-30 19:00:26 +0000 UTCA lot of good choices here.
Anthony MacEwan
2024-09-30 18:59:55 +0000 UTCThis was a tough choice. I was so tempted to select Robocop, as its so much more than it seems to be. Its brilliant. But, I'm British, and Monty Python's Life of Brian is sort of required reading for us. It's a film I think everyone, everywhere should see. Whatever wins, hope you enjoy!
