I feel like this is where they really started to amp up the references to other Trek shows, and they do it so beautifully. My friend and I have a running joke - the first Star Trek she watched was actually Lower Decks, so whenever we watch another Trek show, and she comes across a character, she'll say "oh, that's Riker! From Lower Decks!" There is an incredible joke in this particular episode that references a show the two of you have not seen - and it got me thinking; one of the joys of Lower Decks is that when you rewatch it after having seen more of Trek, you keep seeing more hidden stuff. It's beautiful.

2024-07-24 08:04:58 +0000 UTCNow you see one great thing about this series is in some finales and even just regular episodes, they nearly forget it's a comedy and give us some really great epic, exciting scenes. And gets deeper than you'd expect now and then.
