A few weeks ago, I had to take a break from drawing. I had a scary situation at the mall with a stalker. For some reason this older guy REALLY liked me. I noticed him staring and smiling at me while I was walking heading back to my car and he turned around and walked beside me. He said "Hi" in a creepy way and I quickly peeled off and went down the escalator to the parkade leaving him behind. I ran to my car just as I saw him coming down the same escalator.
I was pretty shook up and really felt guilty for doing the drawings that I do. Am I creating guys like this? It was funny because when the discussion of guys peeping on Little Lorna in the change room didn't help things but I think after some time, I've disconnected the two thoughts.
Anyways... everyone appreciates being admired but this was sort of crossing the line. It's okay to let anyone live rent free in your mind but just make sure that it is as far as you go because you never know what kind of effect it can have. I was honestly about to give up drawing forever I was so shaken up.
I know you guys are all cool and know these are all just fantasy drawings based on no reality at all. If you are having trouble keeping the gap, it is really unhealthy.
On a similar note... LEGALIZE PROSTITUTION! Omg... this guy wouldn't be such a creep if he could just hire a girl to get it out of his system. :(

He was apparently too wrapped up in his own reality to see how it affected you. Why follow if you obviously took off in the opposite direction? You read the situation correctly and ensured your safety. You also did right by yourself by taking the time to process it all. Happy to hear you’re alright.

What I didn’t say was that we passed earlier and we exchanged a smile… me out of politeness but he read something totally different. I don’t judge him saying hi, but following me down to the parkade was totally out of line. I know he did because when I bolted to the escalator, he continued walking so he made a concious effort to turn around and follow me after a minute.

For a simple reality check - imagine someone playing Doom or Duke Nukem (or any later FPS) then using the "I played 10K hours, rotted mah brain...!" if they filed a "Job Complaint" in the manner most associated with the US Postal Service at a former employer who likely fired them for skipping work with fake sick calls too many times... The jury would laugh them (with apologies to the tragedy) into Jail or Death Row and some court hecklers would throw Twinkies at them! Likely the heckler would get a warning from the Judge, the twinkies confiscated but everyone would be eating them as they wrapped up the paperwork to send them away. Freedom of speech, thought and the press is the most important ideal of western civilization. Also the assertion that a sane free person can seperate fiction from reality. We have the right to think anything and express pretty much all of it openly though today's "Cancel Culture" is a problem. In a free world bad things will happen to innocent people at the hands of evil and insane people. It will happen in a world where all freedoms are taken with the pretense of "Protecting" them also. Some really fantastic serial killers have been uncovered in Russia and China and they are probably top of a mountain that was either ignored, undiscovered or covered up by the state. By contrast Japan which has Hentai and even "Loli" manga sold openly has a microscopic number of serial killers and abuse of children in that way compared to almost all of the world.

2024-06-01 16:40:58 +0000 UTCVery much so. I know we’ve seen lots of graphic violence in movies and comics and it doesn’t traumatize however, I by mistake saw a real life killing and the image was so traumatizing that even 20 years later I am horrified just thinking of it.

A big part of humor is treating something absurd as if it's totally normal. That's what makes your comics so funny, to a normal person like you a situation like this is terrifying, but to LL it's just a typical Tuesday.
