I'm old, so I grew up with the original 1978 BSG series, but as much as I liked it, this one is superior in all regards. And Bear McCreary's music is a character unto itself. I am SO looking forward to following your journey on this show. I think it's some of the finest episodic television ever made. Starbuck was my favorite character from the original show, and this reboot was my introduction to Katee Sackhoff and her portrayal of Starbuck quickly became my second favorite of this series. I'd tell you my favorite, but spoilers. Needless to say, I'm all in for Kat's reactions to anything Starbuck related. :) That and I love the fact that you both understand how shows can try to manipulate your feelings, and yet you STILL get sucked in and made to feel the emotions of the moment. That is a joy to watch.
