The other impression that Chris did while in uniform was of a man called David Vine who was a sports commentator/journalist. He was interviewing a very well known jockey called Lester Piggott. Piggott had 4 years before been sentenced to 3 years in jail for tax evasion...... Hence the joke about the wine year. Don't think many people would recognise those impressions now even in the UK, never mind the US, as they have both been dead a fair old while. David Coleman does make a reappearance in the series 5 Smeg Ups though. Eeeeeextroooooidinary! It comes from one of the best RD eps ever and even has a cameo by an American movie star! (Well, I've seem them in 2 movies so star may be pushing it a little).
