People will go back and forth on the overall quality of the long term story, whether it stuck the landing or not, but it spawned numerous spin-off books (Jack of Fables, Unwritten(kinda), Cinderella, Fairest, EverAfter) and is even back now on 9+ issue continuation of all that. And for something that started out as a "storybook characters in the real world" story, you can't say it didn't have longevity.
