Phantasms, Gallifrey Gals Get Warped! S7ep6

Comments

Since this episode first aired, is very caie I see reminds of Troi's cellular peptide cake.

Dan Williams

Concerning the part about why you two aren't at the top, let me just say this . I am a Patron for Gallifrey Gals and NO ONE ELSE! ... ... you should see my reactions to your reactions, I laugh, cry, and scream. That's what it's all about :-D

Edward A Kerr

With those tinty glasses, Paula looks like she just warped in here from the '70s.

Joe Concepts

Not that the actor for Freud here was bad. But I would have loved if they had brought back Rod Loomis, who played Dr. Manheim in S1ep23 - We'll Always Have Paris, after he played Freud in Bill & Ted's Excellent Adventure.

David Brown

In The Next Generation Companion, it's said that this episode became infamous as "the cake show," because the cake itself caused so much trouble. They ordered a life-sized torso cake, but it turned out to look ridiculously small with Troi's head over it, and they wanted it to be horrifying rather than hilarious, so they had to add to it. Marina Sirtis was also very uncomfortable with her head thrown back in that position (obviously, her real body was under the table).

MARK F JENKINS

Cool, thanks!

Ben Chan

1F611 is the numeric code for the “expressionless” emoji. I guess there must have been some kind of technical glitch when Kat tried to post it with the other two emojis.

I love Paula’s glasses. They have a subtle tint. That cellular peptide cake with mint frosting does look quite appetizing. Troi was extremely understanding. If someone stabbed me in the shoulder and knocked me unconscious, I think I would need a lot of time to process that trauma, even if they weren’t in control of their actions, and wouldn’t be headed over to see them with a cake baked in their likeness. I guess it speaks to the strength of their friendship.

This pairs really well with another episode to be seen. I love all the interpretive imagery. And yes Kat, it IS like Inception, which after hearing everyone rant and rave about what a cool and imaginative movie it was, I was so underwhelmed to realize it was a mix of this episode, "Frame of Mind" from last season and a Voyager episode. Everyone I knew was going on about how unique a concept it was and I was just like, " Please, you all clearly need to watch more Star Trek."

Nolan

Um..... what?? Should I be scared of what that means?😰

Ben Chan

1F611 😶😬

Ohhhh we can't wait either!!!

Time Lord

It's truly seared into our brains now 😶

Time Lord

We appreciate all of the support so much. 😄

Time Lord

It was still such a fun one though!

Time Lord

This episode reminds me how there are millions of creatures living on our bodies all the time... but they're not harmful (as far as we know....!)

Ben Chan

I love these get warped tuesdays! You both do great work with this channel I’m sure you will get a ton of new followers as time goes on!

Brian Hakala

Oh, I cannot effing WAIT for next week!

Eric

Put it on my gravestone 🤣 - Kat

Time Lord

"Who knows? I sure as fuck don't" - Kat summarises my default state of existence.

Ben King

I always thought it would have been cool to have Troi be their guide in the holodeck. To me it makes more sense to have her and Geordie exploring Data's dream than Capt. Picard.

Terrell Kirkman

Im more interested in interpreting why Data dreams Beverly sucking out Rikers brain with a straw... What does that say about Dr. Crusher...? and what does it say about Riker... at least on how Data sees them. Its an image I cant forget.

Mark Ten

I do wish you did have more followers on YT as well as here on Patreon. I like that you speak your minds and don't pull punches. Anyone that can't cope, it's their loss.

Bruce Bromley

As well as the 'Alice' cake from the Tom Petty video for 'Don't Come Around Here No More'

Bruce Bromley

As a horror fan, especially existential and lovecraftian style horror, I loved this episode. I know they aren't for everyone but I love the one-off horror-ish episodes each ST series seem to have.

Saucy

I had the same uncomfortable reaction as Kat when they were telling Data they were going to go inside and observe his dreams. I didn't have that reaction the first time I watched this way back when but now I was like "oh hell no your not!"

Mike

Another season 1 reference popped into my head, when Beverly described that the crew would collapse into a few pounds of chemical s. "Ugly bags of mostly water"

Colin 3of5

The Troi cake image reminds me of the freaky images from classic Twilight Zone episodes.

Stephen Kronfeld

Funny thing: The episode with the exploding head (which was "Conspiracy" in season one actually) was also about people being infested with parasitic organisms, only those actually controlled people and didn't feed on them.

Judge Brehon

Hey I know you two are close sot finishing the 2nd season of Vox Machina... I'd like to suggest watching Star Trek: Prodigy or Lower Decks for you next animated show. With Prodigy you don't have to know anything about past Trek shows, but its still deep and fun and the best of Trek. Lower Decks is a lot more easter egg heavy, but its funny and self deprotecting. Kat, I really do hope you decide to watch at least a few episodes of DS9, even it if off camera. I think that you'd like a lot of what that show does. Love you both. LLAP
