She says "You thought it was red?", meaning she does have a good grasp of how the room works. Most cartoon characters most likely wouldn't understand it, or at least not understand it as fast.

It's a show for younger kids than Steven Universe I remember hearing about it from my friend whose son is in elementary school school. It also was an April Fools day thing. I do give them credit for knowing how to market themselves .
