Aquiel, Gallifrey Gals Get Warped! S6ep13

How on Earth is Kat supposed to focus on the episode when there's a dog involved? It's almost impossible! x

Thank you all for being here with us on these watch throughs and thank you for always being a supportive and wonderful community!

Still one of my favs

Dan Williams

Renee Jones was a regular on Days of our lives for many years. But I agree, she and Geordi were not a good fit here!

Terry Mitchell

I'm posting late, and I know EXACTLY the episode you're referring to in season 7 (which I will obviously not mention here)... but I have to say, after seeing it a couple times, I've actually come to kind of enjoy it! Now I have a soft spot for it lol. Maybe Kat will feel the same way? We'll see when you guys get there!

Visible Pixels

I’m late to the party here, but I don’t mind this episode at all. This just lands in the mediocre to decent episode.

Andrew Hogan

Forgot to mention: I didn't think the actress was bad per se. She just didn't elevate above the material or, yes, have much chemistry with Burton. It really felt to me like most of it was let down by the way the episode was plotted. It seemed to think it could depend solely on her soliloquies to keep the audience engaged.

Bluefox

Her voice was removed for busgetary reasons by production head Herb Solow, who years later made a public apology for making that decision.

Mark Chrisco

I hate this episode so much I actually can't watch this reaction but the next one is excellent lol.

Christopher Hayes

It wasn't the initial reaction that I think was Katrina's best here. It was when she immediately remembered the dog, while everyone else seemed for forget there was another possible suspect. I also wonder: was Geordi being mean to the dog the reason it decided to transform back? It still had at least some level of control to go after Geordi, rather than just being inert.

Bluefox

Kat, you’re neurodivergent?! Neurodivergent fist bump! 🤜

Matthew Zeidman

Definitely think this was a SUB-par episode. Lets put it this way, if it was on the bachelor, it wouldn't be getting a ROSA. ;)

LogicSequence

I think I’ve only ever seen this episode in full once. Definitely one of the bottom 5 episodes of the whole show. Always felt it was out of place. Fortunately the rest of the season is full of absolute BANGERS!

Brett Delbridge

Although there are a few pleasant surprises, this may be the most forgettable episode not only in the season, but the entire series.

Mark Chrisco

I can never remember what happens in this episode, even though I've seen it like 3 times...it's just...meh. I think it could have been structured a bit better and Geordi and Riker feel like less advanced versions of themselves...by season 6 they should be a lot better character-wise.

Chris Lane- Venturi 3D

Never re-watched this episode. I see that u really like the intro theme. It breaks my heart that u will NEVER hear it in its original stunningly beautiful iteration. The TNG version is the one u order from WISH.COM. When Kirk lays eyes on his beloved Enterprise to this beautiful music, u will cry. And let me explain, this was TEN years that we had waited for that moment and it was perfect

Sal Sanchez

Not the most gripping episode this. However, I am looking forward to Kat's reaction to the next one. :-)

Matthew Berry

The plot of Geordi looking through her logs and falling for a woman who he thought was dead is a take on the 1944 film "Laura." Same thing with the title. Quantum Leap did the same thing with the episode "Goodnight Dear Heart." Trivia: That QL episode also guest-starred Robert Duncan Mcneil who played Cadet Lacarno from the First Duty and Tom Paris from Star Trek: Voyager.

Judge Brehon

I always thought the actress was fine, just was stuck in a bad episode.

Joe Concepts

Oh, and I low-key like Night Terrors ("Where Are Youuuu?") and think the ONLY thing letting that down was those over designed dream sequences. If they had cut out Troi flying on the greenscreen and just had her wandering eerily empty corridors of the Enterprise with jump scares and spooks, that woulda been a very decent spooky episode also. So far TNG has tried it twice and over thought it both times. Also, this episode has a goo monster that can change shapee and unknown samples... are we sure this isn't a stealth DS9 episode.

Nolan

This is a pretty meh episode, but I love the concept of the sub-space relay, lone lighthouse on the edge of space, it's just too bad the episode did not role into that concept and let it be as spooky as it could've been. Think about it, one or two of our Main Characters are assigned to a relay for maintenance while the Enterprise goes off on it's way, leaving them there with a few other characters who are a bit strange because they live out in the middle of nowhere with just themselves. Then an ion storm rolls in, bringing a ship in distress and suddenly those on board this lonely lighthouse are being hunted.

Nolan

I guess it's good she wasn't the killer, but it would've been more fun if it turned out differently and Geordi just had a dog for the rest of the series.

Joe Concepts

Off the top of my head I can think of three season 7 episodes that I'd describe as cringe-inducing hot messes. I don't know which one Paula has in mind, but I'd say all three are far worse than "Aquiel," the main fault of which is just that it's bland and forgettable (admittedly, that's a serious fault in any story). Meanwhile, I'm surprised by all the dislike for "Night Terrors." Although I agree the scene of Troi in the dream is badly done, I find the episode as a whole quite enjoyably creepy.

Keith Goodnight

Could you remove the name of your fav episode in Season 6? Kat has not watched it yet.

Firefly24601

I wonder if Commander Morag got in trouble for taking encrypted Starfleet messages.

Firefly24601

This is one that I always skip in my rewatch. I think I've only seen it once, when it first aired. My memory is that it was pretty bad, but I enjoyed rewatching it with you gals. It wasn't as bad as I remembered, though it's definitely not good. I 100% agree with Paula. It's not even close to what I assume is her least favorite episode (and I think almost everybody's least favorite episode) coming up in season 7. Now, I think we have pretty clear sailing for the rest of season 6, including one of my all time favorites (REDACTED) before heading into the whiplash that is Season 7 as it swings wildly between truly great episodes and dumpster fires.

R. Chang

I think it's official that Kat has watched too many Star Trek episodes.

Bob Hughes

I dont remember this one at all - I think my memories were erased! (I suspect the dog)

Mark Ten

This one was a big pass for me. I saw it when it first aired. It was poorly written and boring, and I was not surprised by the ending. I have since tried to re-watch it two or three times and couldn't get more than halfway through it before quitting. This was definitely one of the weaker episodes of the series. The rest of this season is pretty good. In two more weeks we get to one of the episodes we've all been waiting for Kat to see. I can't wait!

Henchman Twenty1

Loulie Jean Norman (12 March 1913 – 2 August 2005; age 92) was the soprano who sang the wordless accompaniment to the theme music of Star Trek: The Original Series. Her voice can also be heard in eerie music that accompanies the Talosians' illusions in "The Cage", also composed by Alexander Courage.

Bob Hughes

Watching this episode, I was wondering why Aquiel was wearing a blue science/medical uniform. It’s a communications relay station, wouldn’t it make more sense for her to wear the yellow operations uniform? I can’t imagine a scientist or doctor/nurse being assigned there full-time.

Kelley Leary

I like Geordi episodes, mysteries, and dogs. But somehow this one just always felt a little boring to me. Though the tension between Geordi and Riker is interesting to see.

Joe Concepts

I don't dislike this episode, but It's not one of my favorites either. Interested to see what you think about it.
