If I’m low on spoons, bored with what the other person is saying or just preoccupied with something, I can be both present and not present. Although I don’t believe Rebecca Sugar has ever openly identified as neurodivergent, she has said she views the Crystal Gems as such. Of course, there’s always a discussion to be had over what message it sends to use or interpret non-human or part-human characters (e.g., the Crystal Gems on Steven Universe or Spock and Data on Star Trek) as neurodivergent allegories, but that’s a whole other kettle of fish.

Beach City is in a place called Delmarva, which is the name of the peninsula that Ocean City, Dewey, Rehoboth, and a bunch of others reside. Not to mention the entire state of Delaware.
