Was anyone else super delighted just hearing Worf say "Kellicams?"

Ben Chan

These episodes I watch many times. Such great moments. And so valid with lies being able to control many that then try to overthrow the government without the honor they claim to have. Even if a corrupt govt, leadership based on lies with hidden loyalties to enemies, are even worse. Disappointed in one side, hate the other...

Dan Williams

The thing about certain movies and certain events in S5 is that the S5 events really undercut the heck out of some of the movies, reaction-wise.

Nolan

I am so excited for the next season. It has my favorite episode in all of star trek. It really touched me in my core for some reason. It is near the very end of the season. One of the episodes I just love to re watch specifically also appears earlier in season 5, I have a hunch Katrina will like that one. In general season 5 has quite a few episodes which I am just curious what the reactions will be. These reaction vids are always very entertaining and I look forward to them every Tuesday!

Sorestlor

Are we getting another episode tomorrow? Movie? Break? Original series?

Brett Whittaker

I'm personally glad to be moving on to season five, since I think it's much stronger than season four. Lots of iconic TNG gems coming up. I haven't had time to watch all of your episodes from this season yet, so I'll be catching up on those during the break, and will enjoy whatever else you want to do. I'm a full-time content creator myself (YouTube & Patreon under a different name), and I know the burden of having too many videos to make and not enough time, so that's why I say...don't feel like you need to watch 3 TOS movies before starting season 5 to prevent spoilers, etc. If you want to, that's fine, but sometimes it's not feasible. I'll just say that I watched TNG all out of order because I found it late in the run of the show, and hadn't seen any of the TOS stuff yet - and everything turned out fine 😜So bear that in mind. Thanks for the great content. Now I'm off to make some videos for my viewers :) Take care.

trylikeafool

Another idea: an episode in season 5 may spoil a major plot point of some of the TOS movies. It might be good to at least watch movies 2 and 3 before Season 5, as well as the episode of TOS that 2 coninues ("Space Seed").

Bluefox

I do have one idea for Gallifrey Gals that might be really cool. You could watch the original pilot for Star Trek (the original series). But watch it as it first aired---AS AN EPISODE OF TNG. Or, to be more precise, it was what they did to fill out the rest of season 2 because it was so short. They had a behind the scenes bit, followed by the world premier of the recovered color print of the episode. I've found the behind the scenes part on YouTube, and then you could cut from there to watch the pilot. It would be an interesting way to see how it all started. The downside is that the original pilot only has one character from TOS, so it wouldn't help you much on getting to know the characters. It'd be more about actually completing TNG the way it aired, and learning how Star Trek began.

Bluefox

BTW, I cannot wait for y’all to start Season 5! Some of my favorite eps in the entire series are there, starting right at the beginning.

Kathy A

When this was first broadcast, I had just moved back in with my mom after sharing an apartment with my sister. Sis and I had been regular viewers of TNG since it began, so I just knew she was watching the finale at her own apartment. Sure enough, as soon as the “To Be Continued” appeared, the phone at Mom’s rang and I picked it up, to hear “IS THAT WHO I F—ING THINK IT IS?!?!?”

Kathy A

I unabashedly and unironically love Gowron. HE'S SO HAMMY it's fantastic. Somebody give Robert O'Reilly's eyes an Emmy each.

Joshua Gosdin

Great reaction

Fergus

always happy to see you buddy. Coming in with technical info.

DarkAshtar

Always love Guinan introspects.

DarkAshtar

Same, I'll start having TNG reaction withdrawals myself. lol

Chrissonator

Between this and Yesterdays Enterprise is why I said most TNG fans don't ever forget Tasha.

Jason Faria

I finally joined your Patreon because of this episode. I’m going to go back and watch some older reactions now, lol. There are many great episodes yet to come!

Pendrew

Katrina I love your spicy reactions as you put it! I look forward to watching next gen with you both every week. So excited to start season 5. A LOT of good episodes!

Brian Hakala

I hope Katrina doesn’t have to wait too long for the next episode. Maybe you could watch Star Trek IV in the meantime. I don’t think you really need the backstory to enjoy it, and it’s the most light-hearted and comedic of all the films.

Artemis Zeidman

1 might be a bore, but its still good Trek.

Mark Chrisco

I would encourage you to watch two or three original series episodes. I know you've already watched City of the Edge of Forever, Amok Time & The Trouble with Tribbles. Three more I would suggest is The Conscious of the King, Balance of Terror & The Doomsday Machine.

T J

Maybe Star Trek 6? That’s all I can think of. But not really necessary because I thought the episode in question actually aired before the movie.

Joe Concepts

Hmmm. So we have an obviously qualified, basically good and stabilizing, but far from ethically pure candidate vs. a ridiculous, annoying, egotistical upstart with no real qualifications, who commands bizarre levels of support for a return to some kind of purely Klingon glory days … and very possibly has the backing of a scheming foreign power. Was this written in 2016?

Andrew Pulrang

I know one of them is Dr. Crusher... the other, I suspect, might be Troi.

Firefly24601

I know yall haven't seen the movies, butI think youll get a kick outta ST:V

Terrell Kirkman

I've been waiting for this episode on behalf of Katrina ever since Yesterday's Enterprise!

Time Lord

Where does one find the season 1 videos? Are they on Patreon now? I can't find them.

Joris Teuwen

wait who are the other two loves of Katrina's life??

Shelly

It has been the longest 2 weeks waiting to congratulate Paula on not reacting to the question about "who is that in the shadows?" An Oscar worthy performance in the category of 'holding it together' a couple of episodes back and again today.

Kirk Deighton

The real stars of this episode are Robert (Gowron) O'Reilly's eyes! They are so prominent and startling. For that reason, I can always recognise him (when he's out of make-up) in other roles.

Ian Smith

I agree. Perhaps one story from each of the three seasons? Maybe, also, The Cage - to see where it all started?

Ian Smith

I'm saying a lot here, but, I'd like to see some more of The Original Series episodes. I know there was a poll, and watching a little more may be good if later on we get to some movies. Just to get to know those characters a little more. As a fan of all of the shows, I'd enjoy seeing reactions to the shows.

Joe Concepts

When seeing these later HD/digital whatever versions, the previous actor they dubbed her voice over I've noticed that you can clearly see its not Crosby, if the image is light enough. But the low-def versions from the past her face stays hidden better, so it works.

Joe Concepts

I love how Worf beaming away could have easily been the cliffhanger for the season. And then we get the real WHAAAT???

Joe Concepts

"There's more?" Followed by Paula's evil grin....

Joe Concepts

I'd like to remind everyone that Kat now knows that Denise Crosby is back, but not HOW or WHY. The Gals have not seen any Season 5 episodes yet, so let's not spoil anything! :)

Firefly24601

What is required viewing as background for Season 5? I can't think of anything off the top of my head. Regardless, seasons 3, 4 and 5 are for me, peak Star Trek: TNG, so I'm jazzed to continue this journey with you folks. I mean, I'll be excited for seasons 6 and 7, too because they also have some great episodes, but they're just less consistent than 3-5. Some high highs and some low lows.

R. Chang

Love the first season of your TNG watching. Long ago when you were in the same room. :-) Kat constantly wanting to add to her Trek wardrobe, and admiring the beauty of Troi, Tasha and Beverly. :-) My suspicions were confirmed. Kat knew who it was in the shadows, but both sides of her brain were fighting it out ever since. Her reaction did not disappoint. If you do any of the Trek films, no skipping. The same ones telling you to skip Star Trek: The Motion picture are probably the same people that told you to skip the first season of TNG. :-)

Bruce Bromley

Gotta love that Riker Maneuver #2. The camera is zooming in on Picard on the bridge for a closeup right after something dramatic and Riker takes a half-step to the side while turning his head to look at his captain.

Henchman Twenty1

I have been waiting since Yesterdays Enterprise to see Katrina's reaction to this one :) It's going to be well worth the wait!

Ian Smith

Definately but they must watch the original series season one episode Space Seed to get a better understanding of who and why Khan has his Wrath.

Brad Barter

It's very subtle but the phaser practice scene between Worf and Guinan was not only to have her sprinkle in about how his Son Alexander will one day want to know more about Klingons but her mentioning about seeing him laugh before was also another connection to Yesterday's Enterprise as it was in that episode at the beginning that she got him to laugh for the first time ever (also first introduction to prune juice but not connected). I only realized this myself when this was first aired and I recorded it on VHS and watched it again. No spoilers but the next episode is one of my all time favourite episodes in TNG and I can't wait to watch it again and see her first time reaction to everything that episode has to offer.

Brad Barter

My personal opinion: you should watch Star Trek 2, 3 , 4 and 6

Jonathan Emery

No spoilers, but I remember hearing about the return while standing in line for a convention before this episode aired. Somebody with knowledge explained the entire scenario including how and why leaving our group incredulous and saying "You've got to be kidding!"

Mark Chrisco

So funny story, I got to see Jonathan Frakes at a convention in the summer of 1991, which was between this finale and the season 5 premiere. And in front of a thousand people, Frakes spoiled the answer to the "how is Denise Crosby back" mystery. What a jerk! But he was a treat to see and I got to talk to him for about 30 seconds and got an autograph back in the days when they didn't charge extra for that.

Jarrod Wild

If you check out an original series movie please do The Wrath of Khan!

Christopher Hayes

I can't wait to watch this when I get home. :) Fortunately, from here on out CBS Digital did the VFX, so it'll look far better in visual fidelity. 🙌 I can't wait to see season 5 😁

Chrissonator

We’re sorry about that. Looks like patreon is having issues displaying video links again through the app. I will post a secondary link in just a moment. Sorry for the delay.

Time Lord

Is it just me or is the video not working? There's usually a second link for the vimeo video which is not there. Have checked vimeo direct and cannot find it.

Peter

[Spoilers! Don't read if you haven't seen this episode] I watched this when it first aired. I was home alone sitting on the living room floor and after the big reveal and "To Be Continued" was on the screen I popped up like a Jack-in-the-Box and started running around my apartment laughing manically. I couldn't believe they did that! I honestly think that smile on Denise Crosby's face as she said that last line was totally genuine. She was glad to be back.
