I'm sorry to hear your RL troubles. *Hugs*

Hello! First time commenting here. Just wanted to point out that John Fleck (Taibak) will basically play the same character later in a Trek series with a name change, of course. I like to think its the same character who has now risen to the position of Chairman in the Tal Shiar. That idea is bolstered by the fact that he employs the same, if not, more advanced technique he uses on Geordie. The name change is all part of the dangerous spy game all secret spy organizations play.

Star Trek VI is "worf" watching? 😁

Firefly24601

The great thing about Treknobabble is that it's not gibbereish, you can usually infer meaning from context and terms, and if it's not always totally scientifically accurate, it's at least parallel. They usuaIly thought it out, love it. As for why, the Federation alliance draws the Klingons toward peace, whereas some Klingons believe that, live or die, they should follow the path of war. Also, the Romulans have a much stronger warlike streak, with which I can see some Klingons finding a misplaced sense of kinship. Re: TOS movies: - You need to watch the episode "Space Seed" before you watch Trek II. - You should watch more TOS episodes in general. I get the feeling you see TOS the way some Who fans see OG Who, where it's fun and sometimes good, but it's seperate and not important. I can tell you Star Trek is MUCH more homogenous, in both story and quality, and seeing the top 20 or so TOS episodes is important to understanding Star Trek as a whole. They're also fantastic, and you should develop a greater bond with and understanding of the characters before the films. - Films I-IV are story sequential and essential. V sucks, watch Galaxy Quest instead. VI is worf watching for the credits alone. - Crazy people talking about skipping I. What year is this? I thought Trek fans had learned and come around on I? It's not an action film, but it's beautiful! Sorry if double posting, I can't see my original comment for some reason.

JXTN

Watch all, except watch Galaxy Quest instead of 5! 1-4 are story sequential, Gals!

JXTN

Katrina's Romulan reaction was AWESOME!! Almost as good as her "OH MY GOD! THEY ALL HAVE A TRIBBLE!!"

Richard Saldana

Watching this episode when it first released you could feel what Geordi was going through. The investigation was handled really well and the reveal of Kell was…well done! ( Since then once in a while I eat big meals enjoying the food like he does.😊) And that end scene really drives home the damage and pain Geordi is in. Counselor Troi does some of her best work in the entire show in that small scene. She is trying to help Geordi cope and recover because sadly the Romulan’s won.

Lamar Bradford

The recent lack of Guinan might be due to Whoopi Goldberg filming "Sister Act" around the same time.

Timothy Hennon

I really needed the laugh I got from "Romulan-ass motherfuckers!" Thank you for that.

Ress

If you're going to watch the 2nd movie, you must, must, must watch "Space Seed" first!

Raja

They absolutely should watch 1 and 6 as well. 1 is so underrated. Replace 5 with Galaxy Quest!

JXTN

i think you girls should really watch all 6 TOS movies before season 5, or at least "ST The Undiscovered Country"

Kris Nimitz

This is one of a handful of Trek episodes that put a character through an absolute wringer and ended on a note of needing a follow up, but really didn't. I'm thinking of a specific TNG and DS9 episode when I say that. AS for the movies, ya'll should watch the TOS episode Space Seed before movie two. I dunno, perhaps you'll do a three episode TOS break between seasons, then intersperse the movies through early season 5? Oh, and you gals would have a heck of a time where I live. The Chinook winds make random and sudden weather changes very normal here. And yes, the headaches are just as much normalized as the weather.

Nolan

Well, Betrayal at House on the Hill *IS* the game that got her into board games as an adult.... just sayin! 😜

Firefly24601

You gals knocked it out of the park this episode, I can't wait for the next ones. Those TOS movies would be fun if you do feel like doing them.

Kirk Deighton

Paula should play cards with that poker face of hers.

Joe Concepts

It would have been funny if Geordi's conditioning got messed up and he just spilled a drink on the Klingon Governor instead of trying to shoot him.

Henchman Twenty1

You should watch the TOS movies 2 - 6. Please react. Very important going forward with TNG.

David Brown

Love Kat's expression when the Romulan in the shadows spoke. Is it someone we've heard before? ;-)

Bruce Bromley

Kat: "This is NOT relaxing!" Romulan warbird decloaks. How 'bout now? LaForge went brown shorts. I love seeing John Fleck. He's done a lot of Trek, TNG, DS9, VOY, ENT, and is always memorable. I tend to like actors with distinctive voices and Trek has a lot of them.

Henchman Twenty1

One of the best episodes in my opinion

Jonathan Emery

Larry (Laurence) Dobkin who portrayed Kell also directed the first season TOS episode Charlie X.

Mark Chrisco

Oh, and yes watching TOS movie trilogy of 2, 3, & 4 would be neat.

Christian Rennie

Kat, yes I agree! It would have been interesting to have Picard also talk to Geordi at some point about being controlled and forced to kill his comrades (nightmare about O'brien) just like the Borg did to him. Also, I think we can give Chief O'brien the save of the universe for interrupting Geordi and giving Data enough time to figure it all out. O'brien pretty much stopped the Klingon Federation War (albeit unintentionally), but a save is a save is a save.

Christian Rennie

I'm so glad they had a scene that showed a little of the repercussions for Geordi.

Firefly24601

Great reaction. The Klingon word "Qapla" means "Success".

Wayne Clarke

Two weeks to go,until.... It's going to be good :)
