Comments

They really should do a special miniseries viewing of I, Claudius, which not only stars Brian Blessed at peak Blessed-tude, but also has a really young John Hurt as Caligula and Patrick Stewart (with toupee) as the conniving Sejanus (sleeping with a character played by the actress who played Magenta in Rocky Horror!).

I do like this episode, and Maisie Williams does a great job. Someone commented on another channel that apparently they were going to cast Brian Blessed as the fake Odin, but he sadly had other commitments. A real shame, as he would have elevated the episode up several notches in my opinion. You can, however, still see the wonderful Brian Blessed in all his bombastic glory in a 6th Doctor story called Mindwarp, which is a must-watch whenever you get around to Colin Baker’s era.

Lloyd B

"Immortality is everyone else dying". The foreboding, the tension, the menace and all that after a yo-yo gag and a Noggin the Nog reference. Genius stuff.

Chris Padwick

Man, I forgot how amazing Capaldi was through this ENTIRE episode! Yeah, no, this season is the whole reason Capaldi is my favorite episode.

Give the chip to the bestest pupper!

"Catch us next time as we watch more Who." "Who?" "The Time Lord Victorious."

Ka Man Chan

In the beginning, when the Doctor first notice Ashildr, my first thought was "does he also recognize her from game of thrones"?

You guys looked a little exhausted at the start of this, Ive lost track of how many times you were wearing the same outfits here... enjoyed watching this with you a lot, watching Paula and watching Katrina watching Paula.

The problem with watching a story like this more than once, is you can start crying way sooner.

Bob Hughes

Cool 12 monologue ✔

I love this story...but good GOD the depiction of the Norse is just annoyingly distracting. For example, WTF is with the stupid horns? Vikings never had horns on their helmets. I mean, I'm all for stretching history a bit on this show, but what's with the cartoon Vikings?
