Paula, could you actually picture Tenant & Smith reading from the cards and not understanding why Clara was shaking her head at him? One of the major differences is that Capaldi's Doctor really doesnt understand human protocols. He is more alien than previous Doctors.

Mark Ten

It was a delightful surprise and I really loved it! I hope you enjoy it too. :)

YES! That's on my list to watch, it looks SO GOOD!

BTW, I really love Zaqi Ismail as Lunn (Cass's translator) in this story. He's such a great actor. And I was especially happy to see him again in my fave show of the last few months, 'We Are Lady Parts' -- which is an AMAZING British comedy about an all-girl Muslim punk band. Would highly recommend it! (Here's the trailer, if anyone is curious: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MPqzoAjxvl4)

Get Paula a Cliff(hanger) bar :D

1:22 Oh, is that how it works? I just thought there was a wash day between filming, so we got you at the same point in the weeks clothing roster! I could have guessed seeing it was both of you but put it down to your wash cycles syncing! 😉😂🤣Sorry, so sorry (not sorry) I had to go there! 😉😂🤣

Thanks for the reaction Galifrey Gals! Classic Doctor Who two-parter! I do think its funny that people think the budget went up at this stage; the BBC consistently reduced the budget each season with the exception of the 50th. The sets are actually more simplistic. Yes the Cgi improved but that was due to tech advances. People think the budget went up but we have to account for inflation and a shorter episode count with each subsequent season. Capaldi had 10 less episodes than Tennant/ Smith! And now Whittaker's era is even shorter!

Yeah, I was thinking the same thing about the Second Doctor's base-under-seige stories -- such classics! <3 And god yes, the cards are so HILARIOUS. The Sarah Jane one is probably my fave. <3

Nicole Mazza

Yeah, I always get '42' vibes as well, when Ten is just yelling 'I'll save you!' again and again as poor Martha's capsule starts to fall into the sun. That's one of my fave Doctor Who moments, though, so it's easy for me to remember! <3

Nicole Mazza

I originally hated this two-parter, but possibly because I was mad at what they did to Davros in the previous episode so I was still bitter. After subsequent viewings, though, I've grown to appreciate it.

Wonderful reaction ladies for a nice little two-parter, which included the introduction of the "cards of behavior". Classic Twelve and Clara relationship, lol. I look forward to the part 2 reaction .....

If Paula likes this type of "base under seige" story, she's sure to enjoy the 2nd Doctor's era, which had quite a few. I really like this story. All the characters a great, and the Doctor's enthusiasm is a joy to watch. The "compassion cards" are a hoot, and if you look closely you'll see a Sarah Jane reference in them - "It was my fault, I should have known you didn't live in Aberdeen" (in School Reunion SJ tells him he dumped her off in Aberdeen).

LOL, I forgot about the homeless remark! That was Series 1, wasn't it. For some reason, the portion of the episode where the corridor fills up with water, separating Clara and The Doctor, reminds me or "42" where Martha gets trapped in the escape pod and the Doctor has to watch through the window. I loved this reaction SO MUCH!!!!

lol!
