I REALLY love the 2009 documentary that he hosted called 'A Portrait of Scotland'. It shows not only his knowledge and history with art, but I also love things like the little detail about how he likes to sketch portraits to 'get to know them better'. GOD I LOVE HIM! <3 Anyway, you can watch it on Dailymotion, if you're ever curious (there's no Doctor Who spoilers): https://www.dailymotion.com/video/x2ahesj

Excellent reaction ladies,

Given just how impressed Paula was by Peter C's guitar playing, it is a good opportunity to mention some of the many other great things about 12. First, he's a gifted artist and painter being a graduate of The Glasgow School of Art - easily one of the best fine arts colleges in Europe. He's an Oscar winner - 1995 Best Short for 'Franz Kafka's It's a Wonderful Life' which he wrote and directed, starring Richard E Grant. He's just become a grandfather (alright, he didn't do any of the work involved there) but do check out a video he made as the Doctor for a little autistic boy who was struggling to cope with the death of his grandmother. He wrote to the Doctor asking for advice and Capaldi made him a video. The boy's mum was so moved by it and by how much it helped her son that she put it on YouTube because she felt his decency and kindness should be more widely known - Capaldi is just too nice a guy to publicise himself. 'Be kind'.

The serial that you watched with the Fourth Doctor and Davros -- 'Genesis of the Daleks' -- WAS telling the creation story of the Daleks. Yes, they were on the show before that, but those Daleks were in the future. The Time Lords sent the Doctor back in time to destroy the Daleks at their beginning, make sure they never come into existence. But the Doctor 'failed' his mission and couldn't kill them all off. :)

Just the sheer look of sadness on Paula's face when the boy said his name is Davros and her defense of maybe it was misheard, just shows how innocent hearted she is. She's adorable

Looking back, I was far more harsh on Season 9 than it deserved, it has an interesting start and has one of the best buildups to an ending ever.

Some Dr Who fans don’t like season 9, they claim Moffat & the writers were turning the 12th Dr into “Matt Smith 2” and that in season 8 he was witty, grumpy and unique 🤷🏻‍♂️ Personally I believe season 8 was centred around Clara relationship too much and that the storylines in series 9 are better 👍🏼

Michelle is also insane and fantastic in Green Wing, a comedy show, it may still be on Amazon and her part is a HR director (what? :D ) in a hospital.

I LOVE this series! There are one or two episodes in this run which are absolute classics!

An awesome start to the season indeed 🥰

Sufyaan Kazi

One of my favorite series openers.

This is where Capaldi's Doctor really starts to let his hair down (literally and figuratively). Also, Capaldi played lead guitar in a punk rock band in the 70s (and Craig Ferguson, comedian and former host of The Late Late Show, played drums). Once they gave him the guitar for this episode they couldn't take it from him, and he would spend hours in his trailer jamming away. His new look with t-shirt, hoodie and sunglasses was in part decided on to make it easy for kids to cosplay him. Gomez as Missy is just exquisite. Her delivery of every line is perfection. At some point you may watch the very first Dalek story in Classic Who, and you may then recognise the Dalek city shown here at the end. It's an almost exact replica of the city on Skaro they built for the first Doctor's encounter with them in 1963.

Poor, poor Paula! Thanks for all of that. I cant tell you how much I was anticipating your reaction to this episode!
