Q is definitely rubbing off on Picard whether he realizes it or not, as evidenced by the way he snapped his fingers. It was just the same way Q does!!

Carrie Schwent

A great episode, a repurposed Phase II script because of the WGA strike, which is why it's a little weird why they saw through her act almost from the get-go and didn't think she was another Q. And RIP Marta Dubois. ❤️

Troy Convers

One of those episodes I usually skip in my watches.... Definitely among my least favorite episodes. LOL

Dan Williams

One of my favorite episodes of TNG - or any Star Trek series, for that matter. I absolutely love the classic feel, and Data as judge!

Visible Pixels

I'm surprised Paula didn't mention Sir Patrick on occasion has done A Christmas Carol as a one man stage production since 1988. I'm willing to bet his love of the play is why it was included.

DarkAshtar

True. Had she ordered the hostages released and then demanded the Enterprise leave orbit before they could expose her, Picard may have been compelled to comply based on the Prime Directive. Claiming the Enterprise as her property opened the door to the arbitration and bought Picard and Geordi time to figure out how she was pulling off her tricks.

Matthew Zeidman

It's not just her physical beauty that entices me but also her bold confidence and the way in which she carries herself. Marta was perfect for the part. Her character on Gold Monkey was similar.

Henchman Twenty1

Agreed

Andrew Hogan

Lol, I tend to agree slightly. I would have sold my soul to that devil in a heartbeat.

Andrew Hogan

If Picard doesn't want Ardra, I’d take her any day.

Andrew Hogan

I have always loved this episode. Just a fun time with these characters and a bit of Geordi highlight at the end. But really, what kind of con artist tries to entangle the Federation. Haha. Even if she won, what was the endgame? No way they would kowtow to such a ridiculous demand as giving up the Enterprise. So stupid. But I forgive because it’s damn fun, and when Patrick Stewart is having a good time. So are we. And he gets to strut here.

Anthony Wickizer

Never knew it was a Phase II script, so +1 to Paula for the trivia, and +1 for the David Copperfield reference. I agree that the stakes are kind of low, because what would have happened if Ardra had won the arbitration? Certainly, Picard wouldn’t have just handed himself and the Enterprise over to her, and I doubt she had the means to hold them captive forever. Still, a fun, self-contained episode. Whenever it’s on, I’m down to watch.

Matthew Zeidman

The world would be made better by a Katrina "Ardra" cosplay. I love this episode because of Marta Dubois's performance.

Anthony MacEwan

It wasn't for TOS, it was for Phase II. So, it would have been Xon, not Spock.

David Brown

Hahaha... that was the most out-of-tune whistling I think I've heard in my life - and it's... oddly charming :D

Michael Bauer

Depends on if you consider the pilot to be one or two episodes, but approximately.

Firefly24601

When it is mention that certain "changes" to the script had to be made for TNG surely that was one of them. "Okay, let's rewrite the part where Kirk seduces her and make it so Picard outfoxes her."

Henchman Twenty1

Skips are delicious, its true.

Kevin Tipcorn

Is my TV show math incorrect, or isn't this actually the half way point of the entire series?

Joe Concepts

With this episode written with Kirk in mind, I'm sure you're right.

Mark Chrisco

Picard "...serious Jeopardy"..........LaForge "hmm...Jeopardy!"

Chris Lane- Venturi 3D

I always enjoy this episode. It may not be the best one, but it is pretty entertaining. I love Data's reactions as Picard is going through Ardra's bag of tricks. Really this whole season is such a treat! Can't wait for more!

Brian Moore

There was a period of about 5 years that whenever I came across a re-run of TNG, it was always THIS episode. I was soooo tired of it. It's become one of my least favorite episodes of this season, because of that. Thank you Kat, for bringing the fun back into this episode. And thank you Paula, for bringing the phrase "butt cape" into my vocabulary.

Firefly24601

"My reputation as a litigator - not to mention my immortal soul - is in serious jeopardy" is one of my favorite comedic lines in the series. Makes me cackle every time.

Joshua Gosdin

Not my fav episode but also a memorable one.

Jason Faria

An episode I used to like more; now I think it falls into the bottom end of the filler pile. The CGI/effects were pretty flashy for when it came out.

Josh G

don't think this is the highest rated episode, but I love me a cheesy one-of tale, where the crew defeats someone through wits

MrEvers

I can't help but think that if this had been a TOS episode, the arbitrator would have been Spock. He can be trusted almost as much as an android to not let emotional considerations get in the way of his judgment (I mean, you know, except when he's going through pon farr like he was in that episode you watched where he almost killed Kirk).

Jeff Seely

I remember the actress Marta DuBois from the 1980's tv show Tales of the Gold Monkey. She played a recurring character Princess Koji (Marta is half Asian) who had the hots for the show's lead, Jake Cutter. Picard was nuts to rebuff her advances in his quarters. If he knew she was a fraud, why not still have a little fun? Kirk would have been all over that. You gals were just jealous! ☺☻☺
