It might be bad form to talk up another movie reaction channel in here, but Cinema Therapy has such a good multitude of episodes about Avatar, and Iroh especially. To summarize, in Jono the professional therapist's opinion, Iroh is a basically perfect human being.

Some people don't get to make the highly moral choices. Iroh could, but then, as you mention, leaving it to Aang is the only good way to end the war.

2024-07-10 14:37:43 +0000 UTCI was concerned about the new Iroh VA and that maybe they were limiting his appearances because they knew the voice wasn't up to snuff, but this episode proved me wrong and he did an admirable job filling in for Mako during a crucial scene.

2024-03-25 08:27:40 +0000 UTCI agree with the story line choices for the show, but in reality I find it very cold and heartless that Iroh would refuse to defeat the firelord only b/c the avatar SHOULD do it for a better end to the war... In actuality he is condemning a 12 y/o boy to fighting a grown man to the death (as far as they know).
