Flatline, Gallifrey Gals Get Wibbly Wobbly! S8Ep9

You can be a good at leading people but that does not necessarily make you good. Can Katrina keep from spoiling who this mysterious Missy character is?? Can Paula guess what happens next? We are coming close to the end of Season 8.

This is not the first time the TARDIS has shrunk, check out the 1st Doctor story "Planet Of The Giants", an interesting story that I like a lot and worth watching

Martyn Hill

I miss the "Pew! Pew! Pew!" in the intro. That was my favorite part

Joe

I have always defended S8 and i think it's one of the strongest of new who, right after 5 and 6. Every season has its ups and downs, and while the downs in S8 are particularly terrible, the ups are some absolute classics.

Opti_Frog

Great reaction, my rewatch of this season with you guys is really cementing how hood Capaldis Doctor really is. And we haven’t got to awesome season close.

Matt

Paula's face through out most of this episode!! Haha! I gave her a virtual hug!! Can't blame her, the "Boneless are so creepy"!!

Daniel French

That note Paula hits when she says "waaaaaaaaaalllllll....." *chef's kiss*

Craig O'Flaherty

Excellent choice! <3

Nicole Mazza

Also. don't let 'The War games' being 10 episodes deter you at all, as it goes by at a great clip and is SO WORTH IT to watch! (Definitely my fave regeneration story)

Nicole Mazza

Why did the aliens refrain from flattening Fenton (the nasty supervisor)? Simple. Professional courtesy towards a fellow two-dimensional character... :-)

Steven Cooper

I think it's extremely interesting seeing the Doctor be the one to question the dynamics of a relationship with a companion. "Well you can't really tell if something's an addiction until you try to give it up," which I think is what really bothers him about her lying to anyone else about being done with him. And at the end, when she is so very blasé about the people they lost, "Yeah but we saved the world...so on balance?" That shook him quite badly.

Sythurizm

Jovian Wade that plays Rigsy is in Doom Patrol as Cyborg. He's great in it and i highly recommend the series to people. I am a sucker for a found family theme which the show is at heart and the Danny The Street episodes are some of the most beautiful episodes I've ever seen. Really love this episode and now I want to make stat blocks for the boneless for DnD. Thanks again for the review/reaction.

Larry Viscarra

Another great one, guys! This is an amazing episode but you’re coming up on a couple of my favorites of the entire “new-who” run so far. I can’t wait.

Brandon Scott

Yaasss!!! SO glad you two appreciated this episode on such a thematic level! Its genius!! This episode develops the character arcs and has such a cool conceptual villain! And the side characters, Rigsy and even councilman! Realistic people that feel nuanced!! Brilliant Doctor Who and a brilliant reaction Gallifrey Gals!!

George Baxter

I would suggest Terror of the Zygons, a 4th Doctor story.

Jade Ellis

Great episode. Nice to see a "maybe they aren't evil, we're just misunderstanding their intentions" turn out to be "NOPE, they're evil" for once. TNG would totally have them benign, and work with the crew to have a happy ending for both groups. Not in THIS episode of Dr Who! :D

Firefly24601

I am so happy that the GG seems to love Season 8 as much as I do. Capaldi takes my breath away

Einar Sigurðsson

what a fantastic episode. Capaldi is barely in it, but what he does it 12/10. Clara gets to be what she craves, the Doctor. And it scares 12 to see himself like that, from the outside

Einar Sigurðsson

I like this episode a lot.

David Tomlinson

Nah, gush away. It's better than folks that always bash her. (And Rose, for rather similar reasons, oddly enough. I wonder why that is...)

Scribbles

It's the Rule #1 that makes more sense. That "the Doctor lies" stuff is Moffat-invented trite crap. He lies, he tells the truth, he says nothing, he does all of these things. So does every other character in the show. And...yes, I love this episode.

Scribbles

Valkyrie

The First Rule of TRAVELLING WITH the doctor is he always lies The First Rule of BEING the doctor is use your enemies power against them

Wajid-Ibrar Haq

Great episode and great reaction as always. The concept of the Boneless is so original and intriguing, and seeing Clara really try to take on tbe role of the Doctor was enlightening. Also, a definite yes to those Classic Who suggestions - Inferno, Robots of Death and Caves of Androzani. I'm not sure what your list is like so far, but if I may suggest another - The War Games, with the 2nd Doctor.

Lloyd B

The Boneless and the penguin walk, I remember this episode 😜
