There's no particular moment where the show talks about it, and so this comment is also fairly random, but I like how Avatar Kyoshi's (and the Kyoshi warriors') main weapon was fans. They are so direct in how they empower airbending, which would have been Kyoshi's weakest discipline as a natural born earthbender. Boss ass bitch.

"We have a dark golden yellow or a burned orange, though the orange dye is harder to put on fabric, but the yellow requires golden thread, not sure if we can acquire enough in time for the comet. How many flags did you want, sir? Also these 3 hues of red to choose from..."
