I think this is the weakest episode of the entire series. It has to strain so hard to make things happen that need to happen in accordance with the plot. I can allow for stuff like characters explaining their secret plan to their enemy for the benefit of the children in the audience, but, like, what if the warden would ask for the guards' NAMES? They would probably have a record of who is actually working there that would exclude Sokka from the Southern Water Tribe. But then again, the warden doesn't rely on such a useful thing as paperwork. He just takes the prisoner he caught trying to escape and asks him to publicly incriminate the guard who helped him. And apparently takes him at his word and leaves it at that. This is not the kind of good writing employed by the rest of this show.

I think I literally gasped when Ty Lee took down Azula like that. Where was she during the invasion anyway? It's almost like they sidelined her just because she's too formidable and unaffected by the eclipse.

Azula was literally about to kill Mai. Ty Lee stepping in to stop it is one of the most amazing moments in this show in a whole sea of amazing moments.

Nobody ever sees Ty Lee coming. This episode moves like a freight train and it's wonderful. Suki is such a badass throughout! And it's so significant that Zuko and Sokka were able to hold their own against Azula. They fought her to a stalemate, and the last time that happened, it was literally six to one. But, the point is that Zuko is no longer alone; he has people in his life who support him and care for him. Whereas Azula was always alone; she only ever had people in her life who feared her. As Sokka and Aang turn towards Zuko, Mai and Ty Lee turn away from Azula. So good.
