Bonus Episode, P.S., Gallifrey Gals Get Wibbly Wobbly!

To watch after Episode 5 of Season 7

We have officially lost Amy and Rory as companions, and Paula is not happy with their exit. Hopefully this bonus content will help soften the change. This is an unfinished story board scene that the BBC released giving a little closure to what happens to Amy and Rory once they were taken by the Angels. Enjoy.

Bonus Episode, P.S., Gallifrey Gals Get Wibbly Wobbly!

Comments

hehe Even after I stopped watching the show for a good while. This mini-episode still gets all teary-eyed. I do agree that it would've been nice to see the actual actor do this, but in my honest opinion, this was much better done in this style.

Wilson

HE'S ALIVE! Rory's alive! He's in the Old West, but he's alive! Wait no, wrong time machine. I'd never seen this before, my first time reacting at the same time. Very sad, very beautiful, absolutely gutted this this didn't make it into the final script for the episode. It's amazing how much more of a gut punch this whole ending is without the contextual knowledge we all had at the time. "Ok, they announced they were leaving, there's a big Christmas break afterwards, obvious." I can only imagine going in blind! Excellent as always.

Sephsekla

Literally the happiest companion ending. Not mind wiped, with each other, and a full life where they were already ready to go. It feels sad to us, and to the Doc, because they are gone. But they have each other, and it's actually wonderful.

Jonathan Reece

And Chibnall as a showrunner ... I like his first two seasons better than RTD's first two. So yes the Internet is not really happy with him, but opinions are diverse.

Stephen Ray

I wonder if Brian ever found out about River. he obviously didn't know before "dinosaurs on a spaceship" but after he got into the doctor loop, there really was no reason not to tell him he has a granddaughter. especially since he actually knew her for most of her childhood.

Paula, grudgingly: "I *guess* we'll get more Wibbly Wobbly and watch more Doctor." And the fans rejoiced!

Ka Man Chan

I would like to forward a motion that all future Mini episodes of Wibbly Wobbly be called "WibWobs"

Craig O'Flaherty

I'd never seen this! I've always felt horrible for Brian and wondered if he ever got closure.

Alisa Loudner

Your opinions were nice to hear. The frustration of being emotionally tricked by Moffat is a real thing. I empathize with you both having those aggravating and hurt reactions to it. I was fine with the episode myself the first time watching it, but the glaring shortcuts emotionally through this episode and the series 7 half as well are noticed by me also after multiple viewings. When you girls brought it up. I knew EXACTLY what you meant and how it is a cheap trick used with writing. Moffat's story felt like a dishonest treatment for beloved companions that were HEAVILY invested in. The manipulation wasn't needed at all. A simple ending and goodbye would have been sufficient, as long as it was earnestly written and did not do the, "will they/won't they" game through series 7. Looking forward to seeing how Paula likes/dislikes the next story arc/companion.

P.s you guys give the best reactions!!! :)

Alec Starley

I don't normally comment on these things but I just watched your video to episode 5, hope you guys are doing ok after that reaction. I'm not gonna lie I always cry at the end of that episode as well. Still can't wait for your next video, espespecially sometime in the future when you get to the next doctor which in all honesty is my Favorite doctor!! :)

Are you planning on reacting to “Rory’s Story,” done back in April during lockdown? It was in conjunction with a bunch of them doing a watch-along on The Doctor’s Wife. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eVqW4XjZwC8

Kathy A

Ooh, I'd never seen this. This was pretty good...

Brendon Waldron

Though at least this wasn't the worst exit for a companion. Donna's was more painful I think. And one of the classic Who companions got turned into a 100 million megaton impact crater. You don't walk that off.

Ken Johnson

I liked a lot of the Moffat from before he was show runner (Blink, Girl in the Fireplace, Silence in the Library/Forest of the Dead, etc.). But I was not a fan of him as show runner. He tried to make everything epic or mysterious and it was just tiring and not as engaging as when it was in small doses.

Oh don't you worry, I LOVE Capaldi!! It's other things that I disagree with. Now that you've joined our patreon you should be sure to hop over to our Discord that is connected for all of our Patrons! You finally got me to join the Patreon, you meddling Gallifrey Gals ;) I found it really interesting how angry you both were with Moffat. I remember I was heartbroken when I first watched this episode but I always felt it was a beautiful farewell. One thing I'm afraid now is something Katrina mentioned some time ago: that she doesn't like upcoming part of the show that's universally loved by the Who fandom. If that was about the next Doctor, I'm not angry, I'm disappointed :p

Jan Popieluch

I cry harder at this than the Angels take Manhattan. True story.

Jason Faria

They are continuing, and have already filmed some reactions.

Firefly24601

P.S. Just a quick question, totally respecting your feelings and the fact that you need to make no explanations but, no knowing how serious you were in this and the actual episode commentary, if there is a possibility that you are now going to stop watching this show after series 7 I would actually like to know. I've already invested a lot of time (and money) into your journey through this show and if its going to be unceremoniously cut short then I'd appreciate a heads up.

Brandon Scott

It's bittersweet when a reactor gets to the Melody Pond reveal. Exciting for the reveal and great episode, but sad because you have slightly less than one series until Amy and Rory leave.

Firefly24601

Don’t give up Paula

WhoIamisme

It's okay, Paula! It gets better after this. Then again, I'm biased because I like the next companion more than Amy, but I'm sure you'll have fun.
