I'm in shock, how do you get through life without the word moreish? I have so many ideas of more British treats you might like, it's so fun seeing people experience this stuff for the first time!

"Best before" and "Use by" - "Best before" is pretty much advisory, it's "not necessarily 'perfect' after this date" - mainly for store stock management. Even honey, which can survive pretty much indefinitely needs a "Best before" date. "Use by" on the other hand is a whole other kettle of fish - it means what it says - the item is perishable, potentially dangerous after that date, especially if not stored as recommended. I would be very cautious of anything with a "Use by" date that has been sent through the mail.
