The Power of Three, Gallifrey Gals Get Wibbly Wobbly! S7Ep4

Will the Pond's have to decide between their life in the tardis and their life at home? Which one is the one they cant give up. Also isn't Brian just the best. It's always the parent character holding the Doctor accountable.

I don't know if you guys have watched the next episode or not yet, but I'm not going to say in case you haven't, but the last scene is this episode is actually really special. Watching it after knowing what it was is kind of epic.

I would like Brain to adopt me.

I recognized Steven Berkoff as Victor Maitland from Beverly Hills Cop

ALFONSO SMITH III

Just also wanna point out that Nicholas Courtney appeared in Daley’s masterplan with the first doctor as Brett vyon

Loved this episode and the reaction, Paula has made me laugh out loud so many times during this. Ooh and I love your shirt Paula

This is a brilliant episode from the character-writing point of view; the Doctor's conversation with Amy is a beautiful, heartfelt moment. It's just a pity that the actual plotting is a bit messy (the android child is a bit of creepiness that just gets switched off by the Doctor without actually leading anywhere, and the whole thing rests on the massive coincidence of a space/time portal just happening to be located in the hospital where Rory works). The weakest part is how everything gets put back to normal with just a wave of the sonic screwdriver -- although, as Katrina pointed out, it wasn't actually planned that way. The production team probably thought they'd scored a major coup by getting theatrical heavyweight Steven Berkoff to appear in Doctor Who, but he obviously thought the whole thing was beneath him (his IMDB page quotes him as saying he regards his film and TV roles as a way of subsidising his theater work). There's an interview with director Douglas Mackinnon from around the time of transmission where he tactfully describes the Berkoff experience as "something that'll never be repeated -- you could ask anyone on the cast or crew and they'll agree that his participation was extraordinary...".

Benjamin

if I remember correctly, the villain was actually suppose to do more, but the actor was so annoying they fired him mid shooting

This is a very Chibnall episode: everything we find out about the villain is dropped in a single exposition dump in which we're told a bunch of Timelord lore that has no impact or relevance thematically... very season 12. I want to give him credit for the Amy/ Rory character exploration but when you think about it this is a continuation of themes Moffat already started this season. So he can take the ball and run with it but when asked to develop an original idea? So much unfortunate foreshadowing...

I think that option has been explicitly disabled due to some copyright issues they had at a previous video hosting site.

There are a number of memorial videos on you tube about the brig I've posted a link to one of my favourites https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fXEphaqrtYQ there are no nu-who clips in this post https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Brigadier_Lethbridge-Stewart The 2nd link goes to the Wikipedia article on The Brig

Kate Stewart is the daughter of Brigadier Alistair Gordon Lethbridge-Stewart, who founded UNIT in the 1960s and became one of the Doctor's most enduring friends (despite often clashing over their approach in dealing with aliens, the Brigadier being a military man). Nicholas Courtney played the Brigadier from 1967 and appeared with Doctors 2, 3, 4, 5 and 7 (and also makes an appearance in the Sarah Jane Adventures). Having Kate Stewart show up here is one of the endearing things about this episode, continuing the legacy of one of the most loved characters in tge history of Doctor Who. And Jemma Redgrave does a wonderful job in tge role as well. She also got a spinoff Big Finish audio series about UNIT and their operations.

Let Katrina watch this first to make sure there's no spoilers in it before giving it to Paula. There is a brief moment from a later part of Doctor Who in it, but it does cut out the pertinent bit. Up to you. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mfkZxU6o9Nw

*GASP* Blasphemy! It is an integral part of every Whovian to learn about, know and love Brigadier Alistair Gordon Lethbridge-Stewart! And yes, he's a part of Classic Who. In fact, he's nearly been a part of Doctor Who from the beginning, appearing as a Colonel in the Second Doctor's time, being a main part of the Third Doctor's time when Three was exiled to Earth for a while and worked for UNIT. He cropped up at least once in every Doctor's era up until the end of Classic Who. Then later on he was namedropped by Ten in the Sontaran two-parter, and did a couple episodes of The Sarah Jane Adventures. The Brigadier and Sarah Jane are, other than the Doctor, the two most enduring figures in the show. Sadly, their actors both passed away in the same year of 2011. Nicholas Courtney in February and Elisabeth Sladen in April. 😥

In the format it is now, i cant download them. That why i ask.
