thanks, we're definitely trying our best and I know some of the technical stuff isn't going to be perfect. We will try to be as aware as we can and appreciate you sticking around until we are able to get back to our nicer tech set up! -Paula

YES. I was just saying this today as we watched a VERY GOOD AND IMPORTANT episode in season 2 ;) -Paula

Hey Jeff! Yeah, I bet you're right about that re: the transporter chief being someone Okona could hit on! -Paula

It's great to see longtime fans like Paula introduce newcomers like Kat to TNG, over 25 years after the show went off the air! When the show premiered in 1987, I was starting 6th grade, and the finale aired just weeks before I graduated high school in 1994. Over those 7 years, I saw TNG go from being a show you were made fun of for watching to a show that had viewing parties among my classmates for the final episode. Both TNG and the reruns of original series were HUGE inspirations for me and other Gen-Xers. These shows cultivated in us an interest in the sciences and also showed a hopeful future--in direct contrast to so many of the post-apocalyptic dystopias that were a common setting in 1980s science fiction. Many of us who watched both shows followed our interests into STEM careers.

Hi Gals, just wanted to say I got my sticker from you today. It was unexpected, since I didn't join the discussion about them or specify any additional details – my reasoning being the costs to send it to EU would be really high – so I didn’t thought it would be worth it. Nevertheless, it brightened up my day, and I wanted to thank you for that, and for the hours of entertainment you offer. All the best, and here’s to many episodes ahead!

Emanuel

Love you girls and look forward to the next episode.

This is one of my favorite of this season just from a "fun" perspective. Also, while stating unequivocally that I and I'm sure all of your patrons absolutely appreciate you guys sticking with these videos even in light of the quarantine (I look forward to your videos every week), I did want to just give you a little heads up that your voice tracks in comparison to the volume of the episodes is pretty loud. I normally wouldn't say anything at all because I don't want to complain but when Katrina got excited (a moment I loved, btw) and yelled "I knew it!" when she saw that the girl was pregnant, she nearly blew out my speakers :/. Anyway, besides all that, love you guys and I can't imagine how challenging it is to keep this going during all this separation stuff so thank you both and I'll look forward to your next Doctor Who reaction.

What! Amazing! And I need to read it! - Kat

There's a Next Generation novel that has just come out called Collateral Damage. A big part of it is continuing Okona's story from this point, he is approached by Starfleet to do some "under the table" jobs for them and over the course of 20 odd years literally becomes the "James Bond" of Starfleet Intelligence. He then becomes involved in a situation where he is trying to save the Enterprise crew from themselves while maintaining his cover and pretending to be the same old Okona. Great Read!

I remember liking this episode when I first watched it. It was a bit Naff but fun. Your completely right the tw o plots don’t jell well and definitely jar a little

Steven morgan

Katrina needs to watch the Wheeler Family episodes of Night Court. I remember the double take I had to do when I realized Bob Wheeler and Data were the same person.

Bruce Bromley

I'm so excited for some that are coming up, but the journey to get there is what makes them as good as they are. Sometimes the slow path is the more rewarding one.

John

I was wondering who was going to mention it first. Good job, Katrina. Not only is the music better, it's not cranked up all the way to 11, like it was all of last season.

Bruce Bromley

As always, Brent Spiner does a SUPERB job. Data may be clueless about what's funny (same can be said for Joe Piscopo), but Brent Spiner is a master. I STILL want to know how that Ferengi bowling joke ends!

Firefly24601

I thought this was a bit of an odd duck of an episode. The stunt casting of Bill Campbell an actor on his way up. Playing a character, who for me was a bit too much like Harcourt Fenton Mudd from the original series. Then you have Joe Piscopo, a comedian who's star was waning play a holodeck character. Something that was handled better on DS9, with a famous singer that popped up a few times on the holodeck.

Bruce Bromley

A nice, easygoing episode. No high stakes. No villain of the week. Just a charismatic rogue, a lighthearted mystery, and a B-plot about Data trying to understand humor. I had forgotten that Teri Hatcher was in this one. I wouldn't be surprised if they switched the transporter chief from male to female just so they could have Okona hit on Hatcher's character. As for Hatcher's age... It looks like she was 23 when this episode was filmed. She turned 24 right before it aired.
